Review Tenergy 80 FX

Explanation

We would like to review Tenergy 80 FX, one of Butterfly (Tamasu)’s tenergy series. The release of the world standard Tenergy 05 dates back to now, about 13 years ago, in April 2008. Tenergy 05, which still wants the name of the world standard even after more than 10 years have passed due to the prohibition of post-processing with organic solvents, has become an existence that can not be talked about without it when thinking about table tennis. .. Considering the features of this Tenergy series as katsuo000 as of 2021, I think it will be as follows.

Features of the Tenergy series
・High rotation performance
・High speed performance
・Light

I think that the characteristics of the Tenergy series as described above are largely due to Butterfly’s unique sponge. The sponge used in the Tenergy series is an orange sponge called Spring Sponge, and the bubbles in the sponge have a closed cell structure, and it seems that they are able to show high performance. This spring sponge is a technology that differentiates it from other competing table tennis makers with only Butterfly technology. While other competing table tennis makers basically outsource rubber manufacturing, Butterfly, despite being a table tennis maker, owns a sponge manufacturing factory and is trying to differentiate itself. Because of this spring sponge, Tenergy can produce high performance, but due to the fact that it costs research and development in addition to resale and counterfeiting, it has become an open price and it is almost double the price compared to other rubbers. It can be said that it is also a (bad) feature. However, there is no doubt that the usage rate of top players is high and it is the world standard.

In addition to Tenergy 05, which has the highest usage rate of the top players and high rotation performance, Tenergy 64, which has high speed performance due to the difference in the top seat, Tenegy 80, which has a good balance of spin and speed, There are 5 types of seats, including the Tenergy 25 (Tenergy), which is strong against counters and fronts, and the Power Tenergy 19, which was released the other day. The explanation of each sheet is as follows.

No. 25: The grain height of 2.65 mm is low. Easy to play on the table and counter.
No. 64: 1.7 mm wide grain spacing. High speed performance.
No. 180: The grain spacing of 1.7 mm is in the middle. The rotation and speed are well balanced.
No. 219: 1.5 mm grain spacing is narrow. It is easy to grab the ball well and put out power.
As mentioned above, the characteristics of each top sheet are reflected, and there are key phrases such as “Rotation 05”, “Balance 80”, “Speed 64”, “Front 25”, and “Power 19”. It is crowned.

About 13 years ago, after launching Tenergy 05 in April 2008, Butterfly launched Tenergy 25 in November 2008, Tenergy 64 in April 2009, and Tenergy in July 2010. 05 FX, Tenergy 25 FX in November 2010, Tenergy 64 FX in November 2011, Tenergy 80 (Tenergy 80) in January 2013, 2014 Tenergy 80 FX in April 2017, Rozena in April 2017, Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019. Dignics 05 has been released as a rubber that exceeds Tenergy. And in March 2021, when the transition from Tenergy to Dignics was beginning to appear, Tenergy 19 was put on the market. To date, there are 10 types of Tenergy. Each has been sold as a new product, and the fact that Tenergy 05 is still popular is a sign of completion and trust.

The Tenergy 80FX reviewed on this page is one of the easy-to-use tenergy with a soft spring sponge. I think it is a popular rubber as a back rubber for intermediate users or as a tenergy for beginners.

Published performance value

In Butterfly, the published performance value does not depend on FX. At competitors’ manufacturers, rubber with a soft sponge has high rotation performance, and if it is easy to repel, it has high speed performance, but Butterfly’s claim that this is not the case is the published performance value. Become. Actually, the soft sponge is easier to use, but there is certainly an impression that it is difficult to get the maximum rotation amount and speed. However, I think that the amount of rotation and speed will increase if it is firmly inserted. In a sense, it seems that technical skills are required to increase the amount of rotation and speed of Max with soft rubber. In that sense, the Tenergy 80FX is a high-performance and easy-to-use rubber.

Easy-to-use technology

On Butterfly’s homepage, radar charts are posted on the technologies that are easy to do for each Tenergy. I measured the ease of doing each technique with a measure, and tried to show the numerical values in the figure below. Items
・ Ease of loop drive
・ Ease of hitting speed drive
・ Ease of counter drive
・ Easy to play on the table
・ Ease of blocking
・ Ease of smashing
It will be six. Personally important items are loop drive, speed drive, bench play, block and counter drive. If the smash is not adhesive rubber, you will be accustomed to hitting it.

I quoted from Butterfly’s homepage.

https://www.butterfly.co.jp/product/tenergy/

If you look at this chart, you can see that the Tenergy 80FX is in the middle as well as the Tenergy 05FX. I think this is a manifestation of the fact that there are few difficult techniques. It can be said that it is a rubber that can be recommended from beginners to intermediates if you do not consider the cost.

Recommended racket combination

Combinations recommended by the manufacturer are also posted. I will also post this. All of the following are quoted from Butterfly’s homepage. First, I tried arranging the Tenergy FX system.

I quoted from Butterfly’s homepage!

・Marcos Freitas ALC: For playing in a well-balanced and wide area
・Timo Boll CAF: For all-round play in pursuit of power
Tenergy 25 FX
・Timo Boll ZLC: To players who want to use the opponent's play
Tenergy 64 FX
・Timo Boll TJ: To junior players aiming for the top
・Maze Advance: To players who use Tenergy for the first time

Basically, I felt that there were many phrases for beginners and intermediate users. Only the Tenergy 25FX has been proposed to be combined with the Timo Boll ZLC, and basically it seems that there are many combinations with a racket that is very easy to handle. Personally, I feel the intention of the manufacturer to feel the ease of handling and the fun of table tennis rather than the power. However, as a beginner, Tenergy makes the household account book cry. If my daughter wants to do that, I’ll cooperate.
It’s almost April, and if you want to step up or take on the challenge of Tenergy in a new environment, it is recommended to combine it with the Tenergy FX system as described above.

Looking at Tenergy as a whole, Tenergy 64 is recommended for beginners and intermediates, Tenergy 25 is recommended for intermediate and advanced players in combination with the bouncing outer Super ZLC, and Tenergy 05 Hard and Tenergy 19 are recommended for advanced players and top players. It is an impression. The combination of Tenergy 25 and Jun Mizutani Super ZLC is not a story that started in 2021, but it is an impression that Butterfly has been proposing for a long time. It’s a pretty interesting combination.

Tenergy 80 FX Weight and Paste

The rubber weight of the Tenergy 80FX was about 45 g. It’s a little lighter than Tenergy 05FX (46 g). Butterfly’s characteristic is that there are many high-performance and lightweight rubbers as a whole, and you can see that this time as well, it is light and of high quality.

Tenergy 80 FX
 High Tension rubber
・Sponge thickness:thicke (1.9 mm), extra thicke (2.1 mm)
・Spin:11.25
・Speed:13.25
・Sponge stiffness:32
・8,900 yen + tax
・66 g (before cut) → 45 g (after cut)

Three features of Tenergy 80 FX

After all bring it to the backhand!

It’s soft, so I brought it to my backhand anyway! After all, due to the influence of the grain shape of the sheet, I felt that the Tenergy 80FX was easier to block and meet in general than the Tenergy 05FX. Of course, if you insert it firmly into the sponge, the drive will rotate firmly, but I felt that it sometimes slipped when trying to catch it thinly, so if you hit it thickly with the back, 80FX is recommended rather than 05FX. Probably.

Easy to put blocks!

As a technique that is easy to do with virtue, I felt that if I used the momentum in the block, I could manage to put it on the opponent’s court. I felt the same with Tenergy 80, but I think it’s very easy to put it on the opponent’s court with the momentum of the racket and rubber even if the opponent is spinning or knuckle! I think it’s a very good rubber if you want to learn to make a face and put it on the opponent’s court. On the other hand, it also tends to be a stick ball, so I think it would be better if you could push or rotate it a little in the game.

It’s easier to get speed than rotation!

Compared to 05FX, I felt that it was a rubber that could be pushed at a speed rather than rotation. I think that 80FX can be used when driving and chiquita are used to take away the opponent’s time with pitch, straightness and speed rather than the amount of rotation. Especially the speed type Chiquita was very easy to do and it was good. However, rather than catching the top, it is easier to do by shifting the axis of rotation. I thought it was a very good option if I wanted to be easy to handle and pitch and ball speed.

Each technical review

Fore hand

Rally drive
I felt that it was difficult to sink when flying with rotation, and it was necessary to hit a little weakly to reduce the flight distance. In Dignix 05, if you fly with a lot of rotation, you can feel at ease that the ball will sink with the amount of rotation, so you will feel that you will enter the opponent’s court, but after all the shape of the 80 sheet takes a little rotation, and the arc line on your own court side I felt that I should drive with the image that the top of.

Stop
It’s easy to stop. I just played it when I tried to rotate it.

Push
It is difficult to rotate. It is very easy to put in.

Serve
It’s not that it doesn’t take rotation, but I was a little dissatisfied with the maximum amount of rotation.

Light hit
I felt that the ball was released faster than the Tenergy 05 from a light hit. I think it was influenced by the grain shape of the sheet.

Rally drive
There was a relatively stable feeling. If I could bite it in firmly, it would take a good impression that it would rotate well. After all it is easy to speed up and I think it is easy to supplement the power of the backhand.

Top spin (loop) drive against back spin
The ball was released earlier than 05, and it was difficult to catch it with just the seat because it seemed to slip a little. In particular, I found it difficult to loop drive a half-long ball. On the other hand, if the ball has a long flight distance, it can be pulled in firmly, so if it can be pulled in, it feels like it can be easily lifted. I think this is the effect of a soft sponge.

Speed drive against back spin
The angle is a little difficult, so I think that you will drive with the image of flying straight and crossing the net rather than dropping it by rotation. I think I like this area, but I didn’t like katsuo000 very much.

Block
I didn’t think it was so susceptible to rotation compared to Tenergy 05FX. I think it’s much easier to block than 05FX.

Counter drive
If anything, meat was easier to do.

Stop & Push
It was easy to do. Because it is soft, it is easy to repel, so it is easier to rotate with Tenergy 05.

Chiquita
It was easy to do because it was easy to get up. I think it’s easy to aim for an ace because it’s easy to speed up.

Review Dignics 64

Explanation

Dignics 64 is the most specialized speed performance in Butterfly’s high-end rubber series, Diginics series. The target layer of Dignics 64 is the layer that uses Tenergy 64, and it seems that the intention is to propose Dignics 64 if you want more speed and rotation.
The reason why katsuo000 paid attention to Dignics 64 is that Zhang Jike ZLC (Zhang Jike ZLC) and Dignics 64 were introduced on the Butterfly homepage as being compatible. The following is reprinted from the special page of Butterfly.

Also, katsuo000 is ashamed to never use Tenergy 64. I’ve used Bryce Highspeed, which is more specialized in speed, but I wondered if Tenergy 64 is a rubber similar to Blythe Highspeed, and I wasn’t even thinking about hitting it. .. I have repeatedly praised Dignics 05 as good on this blog, but I tried to use it to find out how it compares to other Dignics.

Comparison of published performance values

As you can see from the performance, Dignics 64 is a rubber with spin performance higher than Rozena and high speed performance next to Blythe High Speed. The speed performance is the second fastest among the butterfly rubbers after Bryce High Speed, so you can see that it is an overwhelmingly speed-based rubber.

Spring Sponge X and Dignics series seats

The Spring Sponge X used in the Dignics series is said to be an evolved version of the Spring Sponge used in the Tenergy series. The spring sponge is a closed-cell sponge, and it is a butterfly original technology that cannot be manufactured by other rubber manufacturers. Spring sponge X is made by making the closed cells of the spring sponge finer while maintaining independence. As a result, it seems that Spring Sponge X is 14% easier to deform than Spring Sponge, and the repulsive force is improved by 3%.
Speaking of the spring sponge of the Tenergy series, the orange sponge is characteristic, but the spring sponge X of the Dignics series is characterized by the red color that can be said to be crimson, and you can tell at a glance that it is the Dignics series. By the way, sponges of similar color are from other manufacturers, and they are very similar in color to the sponge of THIBAR’s Evolution series.

It is also introduced that the surface strength and ball holding have been improved. Regarding ball holding, it is introduced that the counter and Chiquita caught on the seat are more stable. In addition, although it is strong, Mizutani also mentioned that it took longer to replace the rubber. Certainly, it takes longer for the sheet to turn white than the Tenergy series, and if the storage conditions are good, the sheet will not deteriorate for nearly a year. Considering the rubber as a whole, the tension of the spring sponge X seems to loosen, so I feel that the state changes from moment to moment.
The seats of the Dignics series have a stronger transparency, but it seems that they use strong seats that are close to the cloudy seats made in Germany, so I feel that Chiquita and counters are extremely easy to do.

Dignics 64 sticking and weight

Dignics 64
   High tension rubber
   Spring sponge X
・Sponge Thickness: Thick (1.9 mm), Extra thick (2.1 mm)
・Speed: 14
・Spin: 11
・Sponge stiffness: 40
・9,800 yen + tax
・67 g (before cut) → 45 g (after cut)

It’s thick and sticks, and 45 g is light. It will be a fairly light rubber in terms of weight.

Three features of Dignics 64

The features of the Dignik series, the hardness of the hard sheet, the ease of stopping, and the ease of counter-driving are apparent!

The shot feeling was more similar to that of Dignics 05 and Dignics 80 than I imagined. Although the Dignics 64 is a rubber with a characteristic of speed, I felt that it was easy to firmly fix the push and the stop like other Dignics 05 and Dignics 80. At Blythe High Speed, of course, the speed was fast, and I felt that it was a rubber that was easy to rotate, but it was quite difficult to stop and stop. However, I felt that the Dignics 64 is one of the few rubbers that speeds up even though the push and stops can be stopped low. Like other Dignics, it was a very reliable rubber that could firmly fix push and Stop.
In addition, the ease of counter drive, which has been acclaimed repeatedly in the Dignics series, was alive and well. It is not easily affected by the rotation of the other party. Dignics 09C may be different, but I think that Dignics 05, 80, 64 use the same sponge and the same material sheet, and the only difference is the grain shape of the sheet. Therefore, I thought that Digg 05, 80, 64, which use the same sheet material and the same sponge, have similar characteristics that appear from the sheet and sponge. I feel that the grain shape changes the shot feeling, especially the shot feeling when biting into it. Digg’s 05, 80, 64 may be quite close if the ball does not bite into the sponge. I think that the only counter drive is to bite into the sponge, but the ease of doing my counter drive seems to be whether the seat is hard or the seat is easily affected by rotation, so it is hard. I felt that the Dignics sheet, which is not easily affected by rotation, is easy to do. In other words, Dignics 64 was easy to counter drive.

The easiest to handle in the Dignics series! Hard to feel the hardness!

Although it is the content that the contract player of Butterfly is transmitted, Dignics 64 had a better bite than other Dignics. Therefore, I felt that Dignics 64 was clearly easier to handle than other Dignics. Especially meet, block and speed drive were very easy to do. In Dignics 05, the ball often falls due to insufficient impact, and you may make a mistake due to the hardness of the rubber before holding the ball. katsuo000 is conscious of the trunk to make up for the difficulty of Dignics 05, and is conscious of shaking by the rotation of the waist instead of shaking only by hand, but the fore and back are turned back by that amount. It’s easy to be late, but with Dignics 64, I could use it without worrying about it.

The fastest ball separation and fastest pitch in Dignics!

Dignics 09C is an adhesive rubber, and Dignics 05 is also a rubber that makes you feel the ball holding very much, so I felt that the ball release was slow. The slower the ball is released, the easier it is to spin and control, but the pitch is only a small difference, but it slows down. On the other hand, Dignics 64 was faster than any other Dignics! Therefore, if you feel the benefit of putting pressure on your opponent at the speed of leaving the ball, you should definitely recommend Dignics 64.

Each technics

Fore hand

Light hit
I didn’t feel any difference from other Dignics. However, I felt that I didn’t feel the tension of the rubber when I put it on.

Drive on long balls and rallies
It was very easy to speed drive and was straight. Even with Dignics 05, it is easy to hit a straight speed drive, but Dignics 64 was more stable.

Drive with open face
I felt that the ball was released a little faster. It may not be very suitable.

Top spin (loop) drive against back spin
It’s not difficult to do, but I felt that the amount of rotation was a little unsatisfactory.

Speed drive against back spin
I was a little worried about over mistakes, but I think it’s an arm problem.

Block
It was easy to do. It will be difficult to rotate.

Counter drive
Counter drive was good.

Stop / push
It settled low. After all the amount of rotation is a little small.

Fore flick
It was easy to do. It’s softer than Dignics 05, so I felt like I could grip it firmly and hit it.

Back hand

Light hit
I felt the speed of leaving the ball a little. I also want to grip the back and hit it, and I also felt that it was a little difficult to do because I used outer carbon.

Drive on long balls and rallies
It’s not bad, but the flight distance is quite long, so I just wanted to speed drive and I got a lot of unreasonable hits.

Top spin (loop) drive against back spin
I made a few net mistakes, but I didn’t think it would be difficult.

Speed drive against back spin
I made a lot of mistakes due to my lack of skill, but it’s easy to do.

Curve / shoot drive
Chiquita was more powerful in the speed type.

Block
It was easy to do.

Counter drive
I’m not good at it, but I feel that I can do it if I practice.

Stop / push
It was easy to do, but the amount of rotation is small.

Chiquita
It was easy to do. Dignics 05 is hard and the arc line is too high, so it is difficult to feel, but I think that some people may find Dignics 64 easier to do.

Comparison with other rubbers (personal impressions)

Review Rozena

Explanation

We would like to review Rosena, one of Butterfly (Tamasu)’s signature products. To talk about Rosena, I think it starts with Tenergy. Considering the features of this Tenergy series as katsuo000 as of 2021, I think it will be as follows.

Features of Tenergy series
・High spin performance
・High speed performance
・Weight light

In addition to Tenergy 05, which has the highest usage rate of the top players and high rotation performance, Tenergy 64, which has high speed performance due to the difference in the top seat, Tenegy 80, which has a good balance of spin and speed, There are 5 types of seats, including the Tenergy 25, which is strong against counters and front teams, and the Power Tenergy 19, which was released the other day. The explanation of each sheet is as follows.

No. 05: 1.7 mm grain spacing is narrow. High rotation performance.
No. 25: The height of the 2.65 mm grain is low.

About 13 years ago, after launching Tenergy 05 in April 2008, Butterfly launched Tenergy 25 in November 2008, Tenergy 64 in April 2009, and Tenergy in July 2010. 05 FX (Tenergy 05 FX), Tenergy 25 FX in November 2010, Tenergy 64 FX in November 2011, Tenergy 80 in January 2013, 2014 Tenergy 80 FX in April 2017, Rozena in April 2017, Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019.

Rosena, reviewed on this page, is, so to speak, a cheaper version of Tenergy. Combined with a soft spring sponge, it becomes an easy-to-use tenergy-like rubber. I think it is a popular rubber as a back rubber for intermediate users or as a rubber with a spring sponge for the first time for beginners. In terms of price range, it is cheaper than the signboard rubber of other manufacturers and cheaper than the best-selling rubber, Fastarc G-1 of Nittaku, and the real selling price is fiercely competitive 4,000 It will be a rubber dropped on the circle! For cheaper and better performance than this price, Yasaka’s Rakza series and Rigan, and XIOM’s Vega X and Vega Tour 3,000. Will it be a round rubber? I would like to make a comparison with this area in the future.
Recently, a review of Rosena was posted on YouTuber, Goblin’s, but it was quite badly criticized. I think she has some likes and dislikes that don’t meet. I think she feels uncomfortable using hard rubber.

Published performance value

Shows the published performance values of Butterfly.

It may be no exaggeration to say that Rosena is Tenergy 05, which has inferior spin performance in a sense. Actually, I tried it again this time, but I have used thick Rosena in the past. In that impression, I had a strong impression that it was a rubber with low rotational performance. On the other hand, I remember that the shot feeling was certainly the shot feeling of the spring sponge, and the feel was not bad.

Rozena weight and paste

Rosena weighed 48 g. Butterfly’s rubber seems to have a correlation with sponge hardness basically, and the Tenergy FX series has softer sponge hardness and lighter weight. The sponge hardness is 35, which is a little softer than Tenergy, so 48 g is a heavy weight.

Rozena
 High Tension rubber
・Sponge thickness: thick (1.9 mm)、extra thick (2.1 mm)
・Spin: 10.80
・Speed: 13.00
・Sponge stiffness: 35
・5,000 yen + tax
・69 g (before cut) → 48 g (after cut)

Three features of Rozena

Recently, I mainly use Tenergy rubber for the back, so I could use it with a good feeling rather than a very strange feeling. To be honest, I could not deny the lack of power, but I still felt that the ease of handling was higher than the Tenergy series and Tenergy FX series! It was a level that I was wondering whether to use it in the main. I think it’s a shield-like rubber for sticking rather than using it as a weapon. If you want to attack, it’s like playing a little at the counter or block using the opponent’s ball to meet.
The current candidates for back rubber were Tenergy 05 and Rakza X. Compared to Rakza X, Rakza X tends to be heavier due to individual differences, so it costs around 500 yen, but I felt that I liked Rosena better. Of course, the quality of loop drive and push is higher than that of Rakza X and Tenergy 05, but I think Rosena is better in terms of total balance and ease of handling.

Anyway, various techniques are easy to do!

To be honest, I didn’t expect it so far, but I didn’t have any difficult technology. I felt like I was holding the ball a little too much, but it was very easy to do loop drive, speed drive, block, counter, stop. I personally found it easy to do with blocks, which was pretty easy to do! I felt the flexibility to enter if I hit it. There was a feeling that the entire rubber absorbed the power of the opponent’s ball. The only thing I felt was that when I tried to take the ball with just the seat, it felt like a slip, and I felt that this part was difficult to handle. I felt that it was a rubber that was firmly bitten into the sponge and hit.

The rally of the upper spin gives you a feeling of spring sponge!

At the time of the rally of the upper rotation, by playing while driving and biting while biting in, it was possible to reapply the upper rotation and it felt like it would fit on the opponent’s court, so it was a good impression. With Tenergy 05, I feel like I’m going over or going to the net if I don’t drive more. It is Tenergy 05 that makes it easy to feel the hardness, and if you just hit it, it will be difficult to exert power and you can only get a good ball by flying while rotating firmly. On the other hand, Rosena fits well just by playing, and it may be said that there is a part that seems to be Tenergy 64 or Tenergy 80. I don’t have any definite information about the grain shape of the sheet, but I think it’s a sheet that is closer to 64 or 80. Therefore, it was easy to hit a ball that accelerates while drawing an arc with less energy in the upper rotation rally. I think this arc and acceleration are like spring sponges. I think that being able to put out such a ball is a characteristic of Rosena and a good point.

Bring the ball with good bite!

I think the grain shape of the sheet is close to 64 or 80, but the sponge is a little soft and grips the ball very well. I felt that it was close to Tenergy 05. Therefore, it was easy to hit the loop drive. However, I felt the need to hit while considering the flight distance to some extent because it does not sink completely by rotation, not the feeling that anything can be entered by rotating and flying. This area seems to have different tastes, but I am convinced that it is a spring sponge rubber suitable for beginners and intermediates. I think that the good points of Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 80 (because katsuo000 has never used Tenergy 64) and the desired parts coexist in a well-balanced manner. From this Rosena, I felt that it was a rubber that could be changed to each Tenergy in order to use my own characteristics and frequently used techniques as weapons. On the other hand, I certainly felt disappointed when I wanted the features of Tenergy 05 and the features of Tenergy 64 as they were. Since it is a balanced type, Tenergy 80 may be the closest. I think it is difficult to obtain sharp performance. It’s a very well-balanced rubber, and I thought it could be recommended for Penholder who have to do anything.

Each technics review

Forehand

Light hit
You have a ball. I felt that it had a lot of spheres compared to Dignics 05.

Rally drive
It’s not particularly difficult to do, but I felt like I was going too far to the foreside because I had a ball. Is this used to it? Since the amount of rotation is the first time when it is bitten in, I felt that it was easy to apply rotation in the upper rotation rally and it could be dropped by rotation. Is this a place like a spring sponge?

Backhand

Light hit
It was very easy to do. It was a good impression to have a ball and the rubber absorbs it even if you push it unreasonably, so even if you push it forcibly, it will enter quite a bit. I think this is the one you can count on in the game.

Rally drive
Since the backhand is not good at my arm and footwork, the hitting point is easy to move back and forth and it is unstable, but Rosena was very nice with the rubber that absorbs the front and back of the hitting point. The quality may be low, but I was happy that I could get it if I tried to put it in anyway. Also, he was very easy to drive in front of the top of the front team and did not feel bad.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
Since it has the same ball as Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 05 FX, the ball quality is low, but it feels easy to control. I think that it is a rubber that is easy to make a loop drive of such a connection that connects firmly and attacks the next ball.

Speed drive against back spin
It was easy to drive speed because it was good to bite to some extent. Although I can’t expect the ball to sink as much as the Tenergy 05FX, it was a rubber that made me feel like I was hitting it.

Block
It was the block that I felt was the best compared to Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 05 FX. It was very easy to do and I was impressed. I think that the sponge is hard and the sheet is insensitive to the rotation of the other party in a good way.

Counter drive
I was impressed by the feeling that the counter was stable enough even if I caught the front of the top a little like meat. I think that it is a rubber that is a little difficult to drop by rotation, so on the contrary, I think that it is a rubber that has a meat-like way of hitting. I don’t think that the back is counter-driven by taking the plunge, so I felt that it was a rubber that fits the back in that sense as well.

Stop
The only thing I found difficult was the stop. It’s easy to play, so if you don’t touch the ball in a short time, I feel that it’s easy to receive the rotation of the opponent directly.

Push
Like the stop, it was difficult to rotate. It was a little difficult to bite in too well and overshoot, or slip on the contrary and make a net mistake.

Chiquita
It was easy to give and easy to do. However, I felt that it was not very powerful. If you are looking for power, it will be the Tenergy series.

2022年のButterfly(バタフライ)

Viscaria Super ALC(ビスカリアスーパーALC)

Falcima(ファルシーマ)

 ・Falcima(ファルシーマ)New
 ・Maze Advance(メイスアドバンス)
 ・Petr Korbel(コルベル)
 ・Timo Boll J(ティモボルJ)
 ・Xstar V(エクスターV)

Review Rozena

Explanation

We would like to review Rosena, one of Butterfly (Tamasu)’s signature products. To talk about Rosena, I think it starts with Tenergy. Considering the features of this Tenergy series as katsuo000 as of 2021, I think it will be as follows.

Features of the Tenergy series
・High spin performance
・High speed performance

In addition to the Tenergy 05, which has the highest usage rate of the top players and has high rotation performance, the Tenergy 64, which has high speed performance due to the difference in the top sheet, and the Tenegy 80, which has a good balance between spin and speed. There are 5 types of seats, including the Tenergy 25, which is strong against counters and front teams, and the Power Tenergy 19, which was released the other day. The explanation of each sheet is as follows.
No. 05: 1.7 mm grain spacing is narrow. High rotation performance.
No. 25: The height of the 2.65 mm grain is low.

Tenergy 05 FX, Tenergy 25 FX in November 2010, Tenergy 64 FX in November 2011, Tenergy 80 in January 2013, 2014 Tenergy 80 FX in April 2017, Rozena in April 2017, Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019. Dignics 05 has been released as a rubber that exceeds tenergy. And in March 2021, when the transition from Tenergy to Dignix was beginning to appear, Tenergy 19 was put on the market. To date, there are 10 types of tenergy.

Rosena, reviewed on this page, is, so to speak, a cheaper version of Tenergy. Combined with a soft spring sponge, it becomes an easy-to-use tenergy-like rubber. I think it is a popular rubber as a back rubber for intermediate users or as a rubber equipped with a spring sponge for the first time for beginners.
Recently, a review of Rosena was posted on YouTuber, Goblinzu-san, but it was quite badly criticized. I think there are likes and dislikes that do not meet. You may feel that it doesn’t fit when you use hard rubber.

Published performance value

It may be no exaggeration to say that Rosena is Tenergy 05, which has inferior spin performance in a sense. Actually, I tried it again this time, but I have used thick Rosena in the past. In that impression, I had a strong impression that it was a rubber with low rotational performance. On the other hand, I remember that the shot feeling was certainly the shot feeling of the spring sponge, and the feel was not bad.

Rozena weight and paste

Rosena weighed 48 g. Butterfly’s rubber seems to basically correlate with sponge hardness, and the Tenergy FX series has softer sponge hardness and lighter weight. The sponge hardness is 35, which is a little softer than Tenergy, so 48 g is a heavy weight.

Rozena
    High Tension rubber
・Sponge thickness: thick (1.9 mm), extra thickness (2.1 mm)
・Spin: 10.80
・Speed: 13.00
・Sponge stiffness: 35
・5,000 yen + tax (10 to 20% discount available at table tennis stores)
・69 g (before cut) → 48 g (after cut)

Three features of Rozena

Recently, I mainly use Tenergy rubber for the back, so I could use it with a good feeling rather than a very strange feeling. To be honest, I couldn’t deny the lack of power, but I still felt that it was easier to handle than the Tenergy series and Tenergy FX series!

The rally of the upper rotation gives you a feeling of spring sponge!

At the time of the rally of the upper rotation, by playing while driving and biting while biting in, it was possible to reapply the upper rotation and it felt like it would fit on the opponent’s court, so it was a good impression. With Tenergy 05, I feel like I’m going over or going to the net unless I drive more.

It’s a very well-balanced rubber, and I thought it could be recommended for Penholder Drive who have to do anything.

Each technics review

Forehand

Light hit
You have a ball. I felt that it had a lot of spheres compared to Dignics 05.

Drive on long balls and rallies
It’s not particularly difficult to do, but I felt like I was going too far to the foreside because I had a ball. Is this used to it? Since the amount of rotation is the first time when it is bitten in, I felt that it was easy to apply rotation in the upper rotation rally and it could be dropped by rotation. It was very easy to do. It was a good impression to have a ball and the rubber absorbs it even if you push it unreasonably, so even if you push it forcibly, it will enter quite a bit. I think this is the one you can count on in the game.

Drive on long balls and rallies

Review Tenergy 05 FX

Explanation

We would like to review Tenergy 05 FX, one of Butterfly (Tamasu)’s signature rubbers. First of all, I would like to write about Tenergy again. The release of the world standard Tenergy 05 dates back to April 2008, about 13 years ago.

・ High rotation performance
・ High speed performance
・ Light

In addition to Tenergy 05, which has the highest usage rate of the top players and high rotation performance, Tenergy 64, which has high speed performance due to the difference in the top seat, Tenergy 80, which has a good balance of spin and speed, There are 5 types of seats, including the Tenergy 25, which is strong against counters and front teams, and the Power Tenergy 19, which was released the other day. The explanation of each sheet is as follows.
No. 05: The grain spacing of 1.7 mm is narrow. High rotation performance.
No. 25: 2.65 mm grain height is low. Easy to play on the table and counter.
No. 64: Wide grain spacing of 1.7 mm. High speed performance.
No. 180: Medium grain spacing of 1.7 mm. The rotation and speed are well balanced.
No. 219: The grain spacing of 1.5 mm is narrow. It is easy to grab the ball well and put out power.
As mentioned above, the characteristics of each top sheet are reflected, and there are key phrases such as “Spin 05”, “Balance 80”, “Speed 64”, “Front 25”, and “Power 19”. It is crowned.

About 13 years ago, after launching Tenergy 05 in April 2008, Butterfly launched Tenergy 25 in November 2008, Tenergy 64 in April 2009, and Tenergy in July 2010. 05 FX, Tenergy 25 FX in November 2010, Tenergy 64 FX in November 2011, Tenergy 80 in January 2013, 2014 Tenergy 80 FX in April 2017, Rozena in April 2017, Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019. Dignics 05 has been released as a rubber that exceeds Tenergy. Then, in March 2021, when the transition from Tenergy to Dignics was beginning to appear, Tenergy 19 was put on the market. So far, there are 10 types of Tenergy. Each of them has been sold as a new product, and the fact that Tenergy 05 is still popular is a manifestation of completion and trust.

And I think that Tenergy 05FX is a world standard Tenergy that is easy to handle by combining the world standard Tenergy 05 with a soft spring sponge. As a back rubber for intermediate users, I think it is a very popular rubber for beginners’ first Tenergy.

Published performance value

Published performance values do not depend on the presence or absence of FX. At competitors’ manufacturers, rubber with a soft sponge has high rotational performance, but I feel like Butterfly’s claim that this is not the case. Actually, the soft sponge is easier to use, but it seems that it is difficult to get the maximum rotation amount and speed, but it may be that it is not impossible to get it. In that sense, Tenergy 05FX can be said to be a high-performance and easy-to-use rubber.

Easy-to-use technics

On Butterfly’s homepage, radar charts are posted about the technologies that are easy to do for each Tenergy. I measured the ease of doing each technology with a measure, and tried to show the numerical values in the figure below. Items
・ Ease of loop drive
・ Ease of hitting speed drive
・ Ease of counter drive
・ Easy to play on the table
・ Ease of blocking
・ Ease of smashing
It will be six. Personally important items are loop drive, speed drive, bench play, block and counter drive. If the smash is not adhesive rubber, you will be accustomed to hitting it.

I quoted from Butterfly’s homepage.

https://www.butterfly.co.jp/product/tenergy/

If you look at this chart, you can see that Tenergy 05FX is really at the center. There are few technologies that are difficult to do.

Tenergy 05 FX
    ・Timo Boll ZLF
        For players seeking stable play
    ・Inner Force Layer ALC
        For learning various techniques
    ・Maze Advance
For players who are not confident in their strength
Tenergy 80 FX
    ・Marcos Freitas ALC
For playing in a well-balanced and wide area
    ・Timo Boll CAF
For all-round play in pursuit of power
Tenergy 25 FX
    ・Timo Boll ZLC
To players who want to use the opponent's play
Tenergy 64 FX
    ・Timo Boll TJ
To junior players aiming for the top
    ・Maze Advance
To players who use Tenergy for the first time

Basically, I felt that there were many phrases for beginners and intermediate users. Only the Tenergy 25FX has been proposed to be combined with the Timo Boll ZLC, and it seems that there are many combinations with a racket that is basically very easy to handle. Personally, I feel the intention of the manufacturer to feel the ease of handling and the fun of table tennis rather than the power. However, as a beginner, Tenergy makes the household account book cry. If my daughter wants to do that, I’ll cooperate. .. ..
It’s almost April, and if you want to step up or take on the challenge of Tenergy in a new environment, it is recommended to combine it with the Tenergy FX system as described above.

Tenergy 05 Hard
    ・Viscaria
        For all-round power play
    ・Inner Force Layer ALC
For playing in the front middle team with an emphasis on rotation
    ・SK7 Classic
To power hitters who prefer wood plywood rackets
Tenergy 05
    ・Zhang Jike ALC
For all-round play without blind spots
    ・Harimoto Tomokazu Inner Force ZLC
For aggressive play that emphasizes the rotation of the hit ball

Looking at Tenergy as a whole, Tenergy 64 is recommended for beginners and intermediates, Tenergy 25 is recommended for intermediate and advanced players in combination with the bouncing outer Super ZLC, and Tenergy 05 Hard and Tenergy 19 are recommended for advanced players and top players. It is an impression. The combination of Tenergy 25 and Jun Mizutani Super ZLC is not a story that started in 2021, but it is an impression that Butterfly has been proposing for a long time. It’s a pretty interesting combination.

Tenergy 05 FX Weight and Paste

The rubber weight of the Tenergy 05FX was about 46 g. It’s lighter than Tenergy 05 (48 g). Butterfly’s characteristic is that there are many high-performance and lightweight rubbers as a whole, and you can see that this time as well, it is light and of high quality.

Tenergy 05 FX
    High Tension

Three features of Tenergy 05 FX

Bring it to your backhand!

It’s soft, so I brought it to my backhand anyway! The backhand speed drive of the third ball was very easy to hit! I felt that I could swing with great peace of mind because I could draw an arch line firmly by rotating. In addition, I felt that I could make a table tennis that would not lose even if I went down to the middle team or the apse because I could spin with the ball firmly even with a backhand that tends to have insufficient impact.

Even though it’s soft, it stops and it’s easy to counter!

Both the stop and the counter were very good. I was surprised that the counter drive was easy to do. I think it’s because of the ball holding due to the shape of the seat. With this performance, I think it’s easy to play sticky table tennis!

It’s FX, but it’s surprisingly hard!

I feel the softness because it is FX, but I felt the hardness more than I expected due to the influence of the shape of the sheet. It’s easy to handle, but I also feel the hardness, so I thought it was easy to drive. I felt that this hardness was a performance that matched modern table tennis.

Each technics review

Fore hand

Counter drive
It’s easy to do. I felt that I could overwrite it before it was affected by the rotation of the other party. This is high performance.

Stop
Easy to stop. I just played it when I tried to rotate it.

Push
It is a little harder to rotate than Tenergy 05.

Back hand

Light hit
I didn’t feel much difference from Tenergy 05 with a light hit.

Rally drive
It was easy to drive. The balls were easy to align and I felt very stable. I don’t think the power is that high.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
It was easy to do. There was a feeling that it came off a little, and I felt that the amount of rotation was low compared to Tenergy 05, but anyway, it was easy to lift, so I felt that I could drive at once.

Speed drive against back spin
This was pretty good. I didn’t need that much impact, and it was difficult for the opponent to predict the speed drive from the front backhand, so I felt it was quite easy to get points.

Block
I felt that it was affected by the rotation. Especially for katsuo000, I felt that it was a little difficult because I felt that the backhand was easier to block with a stiffer rubber. It is an impression that it is affected by heavy balls.

Counter drive
If anything, meat was easier to do.

Stop
It was easy to do.

Push
Because it is soft, it is easy to repel, so it is easier to rotate with Tenergy 05.

Chiquita
It was easy to get up, so it felt very good. The power may be small, but I think that the opponent does not like it if you put a horizontal rotation in the front team.

Review Tenergy 05

Explanation

World Standard for all rubbers: Tenegy 05. Even now that the Dignics series has been sold by Butterfly as a rubber that exceeds Tenergy 05, the presence of Tenergy 05 is certain. One reason is that top players and players who contract with Butterfly are still using this rubber. Now that the rubber of the Dignics series has appeared, I would like to review the Tenergy series and what kind of rubber is the representative rubber in the Tenergy series, Tenergy 05.
Tenergy 05 was released in 2008, more than 10 years ago. At that time, the big rule change of completely banning speed glue had a strong impact. Tenergy 05 became a monster rubber by running up to the world standard in the tremor. Tenergy 05 and “spin tension” rubber have emerged under the rule that speed glue can no longer be used and the speed performance and spin performance of highly elastic rubber due to post-processing can no longer be drawn out. Even now, the ban on speed glue and the problem of using auxiliary agents for some players (rubber post-processing, which is prohibited by the rules) have not been solved, but even if speed glue cannot be used, high speed With its performance and spin performance, Tenergy 05 can be said to be a savior in the table tennis world. Coupled with the support of such an era, Monster Rubber was born.

Published performance value

What you can see from this performance diagram is that Tenergy 05 is one of the rubbers that has high performance in both rotation performance and speed performance. You can also see that there are only two rubbers, Dignics 05 and Dignics 80, that are superior to Tenergy 05 in terms of rotation performance and speed performance. Both rubbers have a harder sponge hardness than Tenergy 05, so it can be said that they are more difficult to handle than Tenergy 05. I think that this high-balanced performance is a feature of Tenergy 05.

As you can see from the figure that reflects the sponge hardness, the rubber with the highest spin performance when the sum of rotation and sponge hardness is 50 or less is Tenergy 05. It can be said that it is a rubber with excellent rotation performance while the sponge hardness is low.

Next, we will compare Tenergy 05 with other Tenergy. It is a quantification of the ease of use of the six technologies announced by Mr. Butterfly.
Speed drive x loop drive
Smash x counter drive
Block x tabletop

I’m a little closer to rotating technology, but you’ll find that all technologies are very easy to do. I’ve heard that the rubber conditions required by top players include the perspective that any technique can be performed without annoyance. Top players have all the options, so you don’t want to choose a tool that has any drawbacks or challenges. Also, you cannot overlook the fact that it can supplement the amount of rotation that is important in modern table tennis. In summary, it can be said that Tenergy 05 is a rubber with high rotational performance that can surely get above the average score with any technology.

Why Tenergy 05 instead of Dignics 05

As you can see from the performance table and figure, Tenergy 05 has a very balanced speed performance and spin performance. There are certainly rubbers with higher speed performance and spin performance than Tenergy 05, but it can be said that they are basically rubbers that have a harder sponge hardness than Tenergy 05 and that are easier to handle. In other words, even if it was released more than 10 years ago, Tenergy 05 is still favored by top players because of its comprehensive balance of high speed performance, high spin performance, high control performance, and ease of handling. It can be said that it is.
The Dignics series is also a very addictive rubber, and it cannot be said that the way of hitting that was in Tenergy 05 does not necessarily match the rubber of the Dignics series. On the contrary, Tenergy 05 has a part where you can feel the adaptability that you can take advantage of the characteristics of any swing. As an impression of katsuo000’s curtain test hitting, Tenergy 05 was able to feel a certain amount of rotation and speed even in the hitting method of opening the surface that matches the adhesive rubber and applying rotation while playing. I feel that this is largely due to the spring sponge. Compared to rubber from other manufacturers, which are said to have similar shot feelings, I feel that the feature of this Tenergy 05 that it can rotate and speed up with any hitting method is amazing. It is understandable that some of the top Chinese players used it.

Paste and weight of Tenergy 05

Tenergy 05
    High Tension
・Sponge thickness: middle (1.7 mm), thick (1.9 mm), extra thick (2.1 mm)
・Spin: 11.5
・Speed: 13
・Sponge stiffness: 36
・Open price (8,900 yen + tax)
・72 g (before cut) → 47 g (after cut)

I think Tenergy 05 is the heaviest of the butterfly rubbers, but it’s still a lightweight rubber that fits in the late 40g.

Three features of Tenergy 05

Drive rotation takes place without permission! Automatic performance!

It is said that there is an automatic performance that automatically rotates the drive as a point that seems to be Tenergy of Monster Rubber and Tenergy. In fact, I lent a racket with Tenergy to those who do not even have their own racket and can not hit the foreground. Those who don’t know how to drive or feel, remember that the ball grew strangely even though they were just pushing behind the ball. I felt, “Is this the automatic performance !?” I don’t really feel this benefit because the plastic ball is also hard and hard to rotate, but I think the word “automatic performance” is a word that shows that it is a rubber that is easy to rotate.

High spin performance!

As if you were driving with adhesive rubber, you can invite the opponent’s block over mistake with loop drive! The loop drive of Tenergy 05 is difficult to block, so I think it is necessary to check it firmly when exchanging the racket before the game. You can fly a pretty unpleasant ball. With high grip, it is easy to hit a low and shallow high quality loop drive, and it is difficult to take a counter for the hit loop drive. If I was using Tenergy 05, I would like to aggressively use the loop drive a lot to invite the opponent’s mistakes, or even after the loop drive, I would like to hit the speed drive etc. repeatedly to develop the subsequent rally in an advantageous way.
Of course, compared to Tenergy 05 Hard, it feels like it will fly a little, so I feel that the quality of the loop drive will deteriorate a little, but even with Tenergy 05, a sufficient amount of rotation can be obtained.

Light, easy to handle and high performance!

Of particular note is the light weight of less than 50 g with this rotational performance. I think there are many other rubbers that can produce heavy balls with the amount of rotation, but the rubber with excellent total balance such as ease of handling and lightness of less than 50 g, Tenergy 05 is still a unique rubber and the world standard. It can be said that it is a rubber of. Light rubber has the impression that the amount of rotation is insufficient and the ball tends to be light, but I think that it is rare to feel the lightness of the ball with Tenergy 05. It seems that the performance of Tenergy 05, which is light but takes rotation, can only be manufactured at a butterfly factory in Japan.

Each technics review

Fore hand

Light hit
It feels like the ball is lively from a light hit. Especially when it is freshly pasted, it gives an impression that a lively ball is easy to come out. I think it’s easy to feel that the arc of the ball is slightly out even with a light hit.

Drive on long balls and rallies
The drive is very easy to hit. The harder you hit, the easier it is for the ball to rise, so you’ll want to lay the racket down and hit a strong speed drive. You can hit the right drive just by lying down the racket surface and the rubber surface facing down. Compared to the Tenergy 05, the Tenergy 80 has a weaker grip, the ball separates faster, and the ball does not rise up, so it seems that the 80 is more likely to make a net mistake with the same swing. If you use 05, I think it is better to open the racket surface and hit the speed drive with the rubber facing down.

Drive with open face
Although I have already touched on it a little, it was very easy to hit the drive with the open side. I think this is a hidden feature of Tenergy 05. With rubber made in Germany, which is said to have a similar shot feeling to some Tenergy 05, I felt that it would fall if it was a drive with an open surface. I felt like I would just play it without gripping it. I think it’s easier to use with the backhand, but I like Tenergy 05 for the foreground!

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
It is easy to hit a very strong loop drive. I think it is a technology that can demonstrate the high spin performance that is also a feature of 05! Since it is a rubber with a very rich grip, even if the swing speed is slow, by dropping the hitting point and swinging up while firmly biting into the sponge, I think that you can hit a low quality loop drive with a large amount of rotation. increase! Tenergy 05 is a rubber that has a high grip and feels like holding a ball, so if you get caught too much, it will be easier to aim at the counter drive using horizontal rotation, so it is also possible to firmly apply vertical rotation to a flat feeling. I think it’s a nice place for 05.

Speed drive against back spin
It was easier to hit the speed drive with the face open. It will be stable if you hit it with the image of spinning while hitting it. It may be said that the feature of Tenergy 05 is that you can apply a strong and strong rotation with this way of hitting.

Curve / shoot drive
In a curve drive, I think you hit it like getting involved, but then the ball is a little difficult to run. I had the impression that the shoot drive was easier to speed up.

Block
Personally, the block was a little difficult to do. Since the rubber is soft, it is easy to take balls such as smashes, but balls with rotation such as loop drive are easily affected by rotation and it was easy to over-miss. I think this is common with rubber with high rotational performance. Therefore, I think that it will be stable by making it a block that actively rotates by itself like an active block. I think that it is more stable to actively perform side spin block and active block that applies drive rotation

Counter drive
The rubber as a whole is soft, so I personally felt that it was difficult to counter drive in the front team. I think that you can hit a stable counter drive by stepping back a little and counter driving so as to overwrite the rotation firmly before and after the apex.

Stop
It’s quite soft, so it’s surprisingly bouncy. Also, it was easily affected by rotation, so I had the impression that I was careful.

Push
It was an impression that over mistakes would increase if you cut it because it bites unexpectedly.

Fore flick
It’s soft, so it was easy to flick on top.

Back hand

Light hit
I feel like I have a ball. However, there is also momentum, so it was easy for me to make many over mistakes with my swing.

Drive on long balls and rallies
A stable drive is easy to hit. I felt that a stable impact was necessary to hit the speed drive system.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
It’s very easy to hit. I think it’s easy to put in even if the swing is a little slow because there is a ball holding. I felt that it was better to be careful there because it tends to be insufficient in power.

Speed drive against back spin
Sometimes I hit it flat and hit it, and a surprising speed drive came in. Either way, I felt that a certain amount of solid impact was necessary to hit a stable drive. I don’t think I had the skill to use it in the backhand.

Curve / shoot drive
There were some people who disliked the backhand curve drive, and it became a scoring ability. Even so, I only entered several times in one game.

Block
Like the fore block, I felt it was susceptible to rotation. It was easy to suppress the power of the ball and block it by making sure to catch the top of the drive type ball. Actually, I think that the score rate will increase if you can make an active block, but I didn’t have that skill.

Counter drive
I didn’t have enough skill, and when I tried to counter drive, I made many over mistakes. I felt that a slightly harder rubber was easier to do.

Stop
It was easier to do because the back has a feeling. I couldn’t make a stop or push that I cut with a Tenagy rubber with a good sense of stability. I don’t have enough skill around here either.

Push
It was easy to squeeze at a certain level. It was difficult for me to cut firmly like Harimoto. I think it’s workmanship. Zhang Jike ZLC has a thin plate thickness of 5.5 mm, so it doesn’t bounce unexpectedly on the table. Since the shot feeling is hard, the ball can be released quickly, but it may be cut off with a minimum bite with the image that you can catch on the sheet.

Chiquita
Because you have a ball, it’s easier to over-miss than you think. I think it’s better to aim below than you think. Also, if you are in good shape and try to speed up, you will make a net mistake this time, so please be careful. Please be careful when you rotate firmly or when you play a speed type chiquita, as it will fall if you do not rotate it firmly at a considerable swing speed.

Review Tenergy 05 Hard

Explanation

Tenegy 05, the world standard for all rubbers. Tenergy 05, which reigns over the world standard, was sold in 2008 and has been around for more than 10 years. The ball has changed from celluloid to plastic ball, and top players have come to demand the power and performance of the ball and demand hard rubber within the range that can be handled. The published hardness of Tenergy 05 is 36 ° according to the Butterfly standard. Even with the high manufacturing technology and quality control of the butterfly, it seems that there are differences in weight and hardness due to individual differences in rubber. I hear that the top players are choosing the rubber of the weight and hardness that suits them from the manufactured rubber. Apparently, in recent years, there have been many requests from top players to use the hard Tenergy 05. I think that the talk has progressed from the desire of top players to use it to commercialization. Therefore, in 2018, 10 years after the sale of Tenergy 05, Tenergy 05 Hard, which literally has a harder sponge hardness than Tenergy 05, was sold. It uses a 43 ° sponge that is 7 ° harder than the 36 ° that was not found in other Tenergy series (Tenegy 25, Tenergy 64, Tenergy 80). It will be a rubber that the number of users of top players is increasing.

Published performance value

Unlike other companies, Butterfly does not announce the change in speed performance and spin performance even if the sponge hardness is changed. I imagine that the easy-to-use technology and the potential of rubber are different. For the rubber potential, look at the published performance values, not the sponge hardness. In other words, the potential speed performance and rotation performance are the same with Tenergy 05 FX, which uses Tenergy 05 hard and soft sponge. Depending on the manufacturer, it may be stated that the softer the sponge hardness, the higher the speed performance of the published value and the easier it is to control, but Mr. Butterfly has the impression that he is sticking to a different stance.

↓ The horizontal axis has sponge hardness + spin performance.

Easy-to-use technics

Butterfly’s pamphlet shows a chart of “ease of doing” in various technologies of each “Tenergy” under the title “Let’s find your” Tenergy “”. You can also check it on the “Tenergy” special page on the homepage. Looking at the pamphlet, I measured the ease of doing each technology with a measure, and tried to show the numerical values in the figure below. Items
・ Ease of loop drive
・ Ease of hitting speed drive
・ Ease of counter drive
・ Easy to play on the table
・ Ease of blocking
・ Ease of smashing
It will be six. There are four personally important items: loop drive, speed drive, bench play, and block. It’s hard to hit the counter drive, and if the smash isn’t adhesive rubber, you’ll be used to it.

Looking at this chart, I think that Tenergy 05 hardware is good for drive technology. Blocking may still be difficult.

You can also see that Tenergy 64 is easy to use for smashes and blocks. I think the balanced rubber will end up being Tenergy 05 FX or Tenergy 80. I would like to actually try using Tenergy 05 hardware and review whether this chart applies, the shot feeling, whether it can be mastered, whether there is a difficult technique, etc.

Three features of Tenergy 05 Hard

05 Hard can be summarized in one word as “spin tension rubber close to adhesive rubber (Hurricane)”. And the rubber that supplements the speed that makes you feel dissatisfied with adhesive rubber becomes 05 hard. Then there are three features.

Adhesive rubber High quality loop drive that is as good as it is!

After all, 05 hardware is a loop drive! It will be a little longer, but let’s compare Tenergy 05 Hard with other rubbers.

vs Tenergy 05 & Dignics 05 & Dignics 09C

First, compare it with the same Butterfly rubber, Tenergy 05, Dignics 05, and Dignics 09C. Comparing Tenergy 05 Hard and Tenergy 05, I think that Tenergy 05 also has a strong enough rotation. However, compared to Tenergy 05, I think that 05 hardware can hit a loop drive with the same or more rotation amount, ball weight, and pressure. The weight and pressure of the ball and the expression become abstract. With Tenergy 05, over-misses occur depending on the amount of rotation, but with 05 Hard, in addition to over-misses due to the amount of rotation, net mistakes due to the difference in the amount of rotation of each ball, a stronger impact than Tenergy 05. I felt that the ball was clearly sharper than Tenergy 05, with a simple hitting mistake (such as hitting the racket corner or hitting my finger or arm) due to the pressure from the hitting sound that I could tell that I hit with. Next, I think that the Dignics series has a larger amount of rotation than the Dignics, but the 05 hard has a harder sponge, so I think it is easier to produce a low arc trajectory. Therefore, compared to Dignics 05 and Dignics 09C, I felt that the quality of the total loop drive of 05 hardware is higher in the total amount of rotation + low trajectory and shallowness. Also, because the sponge hardness is hard, compared to Tenergy 05, Dignics 05, and Dignics 09C, the 05 Hard has a slight change in the amount of rotation of the loop drive of each ball, and it looks like a habit ball. It should be noted that it is easy. I imagine that there are many users even among top players because of these characteristics.

vs Hurricane NEO III

Compared to Hurricane NEO III of Double Happiness Shanghai (DHS), which is a typical adhesive rubber, the sinking habit ball that seems to be a sticky rubber has a part in Hurricane NEO3. However, I felt that 05 hardware can be loop driven with a feeling that is quite close to adhesive rubber. In addition, Hurricane NEO3 will rotate and stabilize the speed drive by driving while opening the surface and hitting it. Even if I hit it in the same way as the Hurricane NEO3, I felt that it would rotate firmly on the 05 Hard (although the arc line was straight). Also, as described in the third feature, the speed drive from the middle team clearly had a part on the 05 Hard side. In conclusion, it can be said that 05 Hard is a rubber that can perform loop drive and downward rotation drive with a feeling quite similar to adhesive rubber, but can also drive from the middle team, which is disadvantageous with adhesive rubber.

vs V>15 Extra

Compared to VICTAS’V> 15 Extra, V> 15 Extra will rotate if you don’t rotate it so that it bites into the sponge even in a loop drive rather than driving with only the seat in the first place. It will be a difficult rubber. Therefore, using V> 15 Extra makes it a little harder to control the loop drive. I think that V> 15 Extra makes it easier to get speed and habit ball-likeness by rubbing while hitting even if you drop the hitting point, rather than doing a loop drive controlled shallowly and low. Therefore, it can be said that the types of drives that are easy to do are different. I think that the control of the loop drive and the amount of spin are outstandingly higher in 05 Hard.

vs Omega VII Tour & Omega VII Hyper

Compare with XIOM’s high-end rubbers, Omega VII Tour and Omega VII Hyper. The Omega 7 series is a rubber made in Germany, and it is a rubber that is easy to bite and handle for its heavy weight. Compared to 05 hardware, I think that Omega 7 Tour and Omega 7 Hyper have better overall ease of handling and speed during rallying. On the other hand, I think that the Max value of the rotation amount of the loop drive that draws out the potential of rubber is higher in 05 Hard.

vs Rasanter R53

Compare with andro’s red Rasanter R53. This R53 is a fairly high-performance rubber, and when compared only by the amount of rotation, it is the R53 that can draw out the amount of rotation equal to or more than 05 Hard. However, I felt that 05 Hard is easier to control the low and shallow trajectory required for loop drive. R53 has a slightly narrow grain shape and looks like a clogged shape, so it is a rubber that makes it easy to feel the ball coming off a little faster. It was a very high-performance rubber that was easy to make an arc even if the hitting point was dropped, and it was easy to put out a habit ball like R53, but it was a little difficult to loop drive with a slow, low and shallow trajectory.

vs Rhyzer Pro

Compare with Joola’s slightly older rubber, Rhyzer Pro. The riser pro had the feeling that it was possible to perform a loop drive with a feeling that was quite close to that of the 05 Hard. If you feel that the price of 05 Hard is high, I think there are quite a few riser pros. However, Riser Pro is shallow and easy to control when it bites only into the seat, but as soon as it bites into the sponge, it felt like it bounced more than I imagined. I felt that this area was different from 05 hardware. Also, I felt that the 05 Hard was better in terms of the amount of rotation and the ease of putting out.

Easy-to-stop tabletop Push & Stop

Push is very easy to do! There was a feeling of bitterness on the table that I could easily stop even if I slowed down the RBI or struck after the top. Thanks to this rubber, I often prevented the opponent from driving and took the initiative. If you are looking for a low and short tabletop like an adhesive rubber with a spin type tension rubber, I think it is 05 Hard.

Speed drive, which is difficult with adhesive rubber, is also Good

It was a drive from the middle team that made me feel like using 05 Hard as the main! At that time, I used Hurricane NEO3 for the fore, but I felt that it was difficult for the middle team drive to speed up due to the adhesive rubber, and it was often swung around. 05 I felt that I knew that if it was hard, I could rewind it from behind.

Each technics review

Fore hand

Light hit
I didn’t feel any discomfort when using it in the foreground.

Drive on long balls and rallies
It is easy to hit a sharp drive. Since the sponge is hard, it takes power to drive from the middle team, but 05 Hard has a feeling that it conveys that power firmly. I think there is little power loss.

Drive with open face
It was surprising, but even if you open the surface, it will take a firm drive. I thought it was peculiar to adhesive rubber and leopard, but even with 05 Hard, it had a pretty good rotation and it felt good. Because of this spin performance, I think that top Chinese players also use Butterfly’s rubber on the back side.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
I’ve already mentioned the details in the features section, but it feels pretty good. 05 Hard I think it is one of the merits. I think it is possible to aim for a score with a loop drive, and I think you can hit a high quality loop drive.

Speed drive against back spin
I felt it was not easy. After all, the sponge is hard, so it was difficult to bite into it, and it was difficult to apply drive rotation. In the chart table, speed drive was easy to get rid of, but it can be said that some technical skill or impact is required. By opening the surface and hitting the ball so as to make an arc at the time of impact, I think that speed drive will be easier.

Curve / shoot drive
Although it is a hard spring sponge compared to other high-end and hard rubber, it has a good bite, so it was easy to hit a curve / shoot drive with a curved trajectory. By using the opponent’s ball rather than going to spin from myself, when I spin while biting strongly into the sponge, the spin is stronger than I imagined and it felt good.

Block
It was better to hit the ball with an active block rather than hitting it flat. It is difficult to speed up because it depends on how you bite into it, but the stability of the arc line is truly tenacious. I think that it was evaluated that blocking is difficult in the chart table, but if you hit the ball so that you can catch it firmly on the ball, it will be stable and the sponge is hard so it is not easily affected by rotation and it was easy to do.

Counter drive
If anything, it was easier to do a counter drive that dropped the hitting point and applied my own rotation firmly. Since the bite is good, it was difficult to control the bite with a counter drive with a fast hitting point. If anything, Dignics was easier to counter.

Stop
It is as easy to do as mentioned in the features. It can be said that it is also a merit of using 05 Hard. Very low and shallow stops are possible.

Push
It’s low and shallow, and it’s easy to get rid of. I’m glad that it was easy to make a half-long push that just barely came out of the table. However, it is quite difficult to cut, and it is easier to rotate it by letting it bite into the sponge, but it was difficult to control.

Fore flick
I flick to put it on, but it was quite difficult to use 05 Hard because the ball was released quickly.

Serve
It was very easy to put out. I was impressed with the fast, back spin and top spin system serve. I think it’s easy to make a pattern by taking a long serve with a fast ball that you have to lift firmly, and counter-driving it in the back of the opponent or in the middle.

Back hand

Light hit
Because it is reasonably hard, it feels like it is easy to drop off as soon as the ball leaves. You need to get used to this feeling.

Drive on long balls and rallies
When I dropped the hitting point, it felt like it would take a lot of rotation, but I couldn’t keep up with my arm, and I mainly used a drive that was like playing. I think the good thing about Tenergy is that it still gets in.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
The loop drive in the backhand requires a lot of power. If you get used to it, you can hit a good drive, but if you don’t feel it in the first place, it may be tough.

Speed drive against back spin
Honestly, I didn’t feel like I could hit it properly. The backhand skill is insufficient.

Curve / shoot drive
When the hitting point was dropped, it was easier to hit a drive that bends more than I imagined.

Block
It was good that the ball stretched when I actively blocked. There was a sense of stability and it felt very good. This area is different for each person, and I think it is a part that cannot be imagined from the chart table. However, it may be a little difficult to hit flat.

stop
It is good because it is low and shallow. Sometimes push intention was a stop.

Push
As mentioned above. It was very good.

Chiquita
It was more difficult than I expected. If you let it bite into the sponge, it is easy to get a long distance, so there were quite a lot of over mistakes.

Review Tenergy 19

Explanation

We would like to review Butterfly (Tamasu)’s Tenergy 19 which is one of the highlights of the new products in the spring of 2021. Although it is still new, I would like to write about Tenergy 05 again.

The release of the world standard Tenergy 05 dates back to April 2008, about 13 years ago. Tenergy 05, which still wants the name of the world standard even after more than 10 years have passed due to the prohibition of post-processing with organic solvents, has become an existence that can not be talked about without it when thinking about table tennis. It has become commonplace for all-Japan championship rankers to have multiple players, regardless of gender, who use Tenergy 05, and it has become commonplace for competitors to catch up with Tenergy 05 and develop new products to overtake. At the moment, katsuo000 thinks that the rubber that is conscious of Tenergy 05 is Evolution MX-P (TIBHAR), Target Pro GT-H47 (cornilleau), and rotation performance with similar shot feeling. I think the Rasanter R48 (andro), which is similar to the Rasanter R48, and the Dynaryz AGC (joola), which has a similar shot feeling and rotation performance. In addition, it is compatible with wood plywood rackets and has similar rotation performance, and the counter performance is Q5 (mizuno) which can be said to exceed Tenergy 05 and Rasanter R53 (andro) which makes you feel the rotation performance higher than Tenergy. Even rubber that makes you feel that it exceeds Tenergy 05 has come to appear.
On the other hand, Butterfly will release Rosena, which is a low-priced version of Tenergy in April 2017, and Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019. Dignics 05 has been released as a rubber that surpasses. Then, in March 2021, when the transition from tenergy to dignics was beginning to appear, the new tenergy, tenergy 19, was released again. The published performance value of this Tenergy 19 is a rubber with spin and speed performance of Tenergy 05 or higher, so after disseminating information, it became a hot topic on SNS and Youtube at once. What kind of strategy and customer needs did Butterfly, who has released a new product of Tenergy, decide to sell Tenergy 19? I don’t know the true meaning, but all the famous You Tubers are giving a test shot video here because it is a newTenergy. katsuo000 is completely unknown, and I think it will be a latecomer review when I post this review, but I would like to reiterate what katso000 felt, and I hope you enjoy including such content.

Top sheet

The characteristics of each rubber are different depending on the grain shape used for the top sheet. Up to now, there are 4 types of 05, 80, 64, 25 depending on the difference in sheet shape, and 2 types of 4 x 2 types depending on the hardness of the sponge. In addition, there are nine types of Tenergy, including Tenergy 05 Hard, which has a harder sponge to further emphasize the characteristics of Tenergy 05, which is highly used by top players. Each top sheet is sold with a key phrase, which is said to be “Rotation 05”, “Balance 80”, “Speed 64”, and “Front 25”. The 10th Tenergy 19 top sheet was released with the key phrase “Power 19”. The top sheet of this Tenergy 19 uses “development code No. 219” with a narrow gap between the tubs, which means that it is a rubber that has both speed and rotation and has a feeling of grasping the ball especially in the Tenergy. I think there will be the following types of Butterfly’s top sheets, including Dignics.

No. 05: 1.7 mm grain spacing is narrow. High rotation performance.
No. 25: The height of 2.65 mm grains is low. Easy to play on the table and counter.
No. 64: 1.7 mm wide grain spacing. High speed performance.
No. 180: 1.7 mm grain spacing is in the middle. The rotation and speed are well-balanced.
No. 209: The height of 1.5 mm grains is low. Achieves both adhesive strength and momentum at a high level.
No. 219: 1.5 mm grain spacing is narrow. It is easy to grab the ball well and put out power.

You can see that the top sheet has already exceeded 200, and we have been studying that much grain shape. Although the above mentions grains, there are three factors in grain shape: grain height, grain thickness, and grain spacing, which are probably 0.01 mm to 3.00 for grain thickness alone. I wonder if it’s about mm (300 types by itself). I don’t know how many combinations of grain height and sensation there are, but it seems that there are about 1000 types. I think that we are developing by aiming rather than sieving in detail and considering mass production technology. I definitely want to do this kind of examination, katsuo000, a science expert. I thought it would be fun.

Published performance value

After all, I think that the point of interest of Tenergy 19 is that it has a numerical value with performance exceeding Tenergy 05. I think that it is an amazing rubber that the rotation and speed are higher than the world standard Tenergy 05.

Easy-to-use technology

Radar charts are posted on Butterfly’s homepage for easy-to-use technologies for each Tenergy. I measured the ease of doing each technology with a measure, and made the numerical values in the figure below.
Top spin slow drive
Speed drive
Counter drive
Play on the table
Block
Smash
Personally important items are loop drive, speed drive, bench play, block and counter drive. If the smash is not adhesive rubber, you will get used to it.

Looking at this chart, Tenergy 19 seems to be more difficult to drive and block than Tenergy 05. While the published performance value is high, it may be inferior to Tenergy 05 in terms of high quality drive.

Recommended blade combination

Combinations recommended by the manufacturer are also posted. I will post this as well. All of the following are quoted from Butterfly’s homepage.

Tenergy 19
・ Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC
    Pursuing both speed and spin
・ Inner Force Layer ZLC
Powerful play with an emphasis on rotation
・ Timo Boll ALC
For all-round play in pursuit of power

Tenergy 19 with a very good ball holding is proposed to be combined with a ZLC racket and Timo Boll ALC with a tip center of gravity, which is easy to exert power among outer ALC. Certainly, the feel is soft, so the combination with the hard outer Super ZLC seems to be balanced. I also think that it will be suitable for outer ZLC, Timo Boll ZLC and Zhang Jike ZLC (Zhang Jike ZLC). I feel like I pushed for a new racket that will be released in 2021.

Pre-trial information from You tube

As for the performance when the information is transmitted on the net, the information of rubber located between Tenergy 05 and Dignics 05 is also transmitted, and it is receiving a lot of attention. As far as I watched the test shot video, I heard some opinions that it was more suitable for the back than the fore, and also that the amount of rotation was lower than that of Tenergy 05. I would like to review that in the words of katsuo000.

From the already available Youtube video Tenergy 19 test shot video, I think that the following is a brief summary of Tenergy 19.
Shot feeling: soft Tenergy 19 < tenergy 05 hard
Arc: strong Tenergy 19 > Tenergy 05 linear
Easy to spin: Tenergy 19 > Tenergy 05
Maximum spin amount: strong Tenergy 05 > Tenergy 19 weak
Based on these points, I would like to review katsuo000 as well.

Tenergy 19 weight and paste

The rubber weight of Tenergy 19 was about 47 g. It’s a little lighter than Tenergy 05 (48 g). Butterfly’s characteristic is that there are many high-performance and lightweight rubbers as a whole, and you can see that this time too, it is light and of high quality!

Tenergy 19
 High Tension
・Sponge thickness: Thick (1.9 mm), Extra thick (2.1 mm)
・Spin: 11.7
・Speed: 13.2
・Sponge stiffness: 36
・Open price: 8,900 yen + tax
・70 g (before cut) → 47 g (after cut)

I didn’t notice katsuo000, but the notation of Tenergy has changed. ↓ is Tenergy 05.

Three features of Tenergy 19

To be honest, it was a betrayed rubber in a good way. Especially when I used it in the foreground, the impression was quite good. Even though it was soft, the stop stopped and it was easy to counter, so I felt it was quite cheat. This unique feeling is exactly the Butterfly Quality that leads the world! Certainly I was a little dissatisfied with the amount of rotation, but it was a rubber that I could swing forward with confidence without feeling the anxiety of over-missing that is often felt with speed rubber and the feeling that the ball does not sink due to rotation!

It is easy to power drive the third ball a little forcibly!

It’s very difficult to hit, so it was easy to hit with swing speed and power without worrying about the amount of rotation of the ball. Students may not understand it now, but it feels like you are hitting the third ball with a rubber coated with an organic solvent, and you can use a speed drive (power drive) to forcefully hit the rubber. It was very pleasant to feel that! Also, as mentioned above, there was a sense of security that the speed drive would sink firmly and enter the table because it would rotate! I felt that this feeling did not exist in Tenergy 64 and Dignics 64.

Even though it is soft, the stop is stuck! It’s easy to counter!

Both the stop and the counter were very good. Rubber that feels soft tends to be affected by the rotation of the opponent at the stop and counter, but rather this Tenergy 19 is surprised that the stop is just right and the counter is easy to do! It’s really tenacious!

In top soin rally, the arch line is ugly!

By adopting the No. 219 sheet, which has a good bite, I felt that the trajectory became more aggressive in addition to the ease of handling! After drawing a very strong arc and entering the opponent’s court, I felt the ball jumping up like Dignics 09C and Dignics 05! This sometimes appears in Tenergy 05, but I think it will be difficult if you do not hit the ball in a fairly good position. On the other hand, with Tenergy 19, I was able to get this trajectory quite easily and it felt very good. It’s not just about speed, but I felt that the strong arc and the bouncing trajectory were the third feature of the new Tenergy 19!

Each technical review

Fore hand

Light hit
I didn’t feel any difference with a light hit. After all I feel the softness.

Drive in the rally
I didn’t feel that the speed drive that I hit in the rally was so good. It’s just normal. However, even with smash and meat, it is easy to get a long distance and it feels stable, so I felt that this is the characteristic of Tenergy 19. It feels like you can carry smashes and meat with power. I feel that this feeling has led to inspiration for the ease of hitting the third ball.

Drive with open face
The speed drive with the face open was pretty good as mentioned above. In addition, I’m glad that I felt like I could forcefully drive even if I got involved a little!

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
I felt that even a difficult half-long ball was easy to make a high-quality loop drive. Rather than just attacking with the amount of rotation, it was easier to screw in with power (feeling that you can create the arc line of your own image with a swing and take it as it is).

Speed drive against back spin
This was the best. Although it is said that the rotation performance is better than Tenergy 05, the amount of rotation that comes from the shot feeling when hit with a seat feels a little weak, and it is undeniable that I feel dissatisfied with the amount of rotation compared to the usual Dignics 05. I didn’t, but I’m wondering if I should use Tenergy 19 for this speed power drive.

Block
It feels like a soft shot, but I didn’t feel that it was easily affected by the rotation of the opponent. In particular, I feel that soft Tenergy like Tenergy 05 FX is very susceptible to the rotation of the opponent, but I felt that it was not the case.

Counter drive
It’s easy to do. There was a feeling that the ball was sinking firmly. I felt that I could counter drive with confidence.

Stop
It’s easy to stop. I just played it more than I thought I would spin it. This area will be an arm.

Push
After all, I felt that Tenergy 05 and Dignics 05 had more rotation.

Flick
Since it is a rubber that is easy to handle, the way of hitting it was stable. Of course, I think it will be stable even when rotating.

Serve
A serve with a high amount of rotation was produced by applying rotation so as to hit it like Dignics 05. I didn’t feel it was difficult to put it out.

Back hand

Light hit
There was no particular discomfort with the light hit.

Drive in the rally
It was easy to drive. However, I felt that the quality of the ball was a little low.

Loop (top spin) drive against back spin
It was easy to do. It’s very grippy so it’s easy to lift. Its quality may be a little low.

Block
It was easy to do. I think it is not easily affected by spin.

Counter drive
It was easier to do counter meet than counter.

Stop
Easy to stop.

Push
I flew a little. I felt that Tenergy 05 was easier to do.

Chiquita
It was easy to get up, so it felt very good. I think it was as easy to do as VICTAS Triple Double Extra.

レビュー Inner Force Layer ZLF(インナーフォースレイヤーZLF)

説明

 Inner Force Layer ZLF(インナーフォースレイヤーZLF)は2016年11月にButterfly(バタフライ)より販売されたラケットです。 最近の他メーカーで挙げますと、XIOM(エクシオン)のHyper Axylium(ハイパーアクシリウム)などが近いのではないでしょうか。
