Rakza 7 is one of YASAKA’s high-end rubber series, Rakza series.
Speaking of contract players with YASAKA, Takuya Kami, who won the All Japan Championship second place in 2014, Mattias Falck (Sweden), who won the 2019 World Championship second place, won the World Cup four times as an advisor, and won the Athens Olympics. Ma Lin (Marin, China) is famous. There are also many contract players from Waseda University, including Fumiya Igarashi, who won the Kanto Student Championship, Asuka Sasao, who won the Junior Division of the All Japan Championship, and Yuko Kato, who won the second place in the Kanto Student Championship. Also, there are many sharp contract players with Aida Satoshi who is active in TT Saitama with a different back and forth cut man. Including when he was a student, Kami will be a player who has played an active role using both Rakza 7 and Rakza X of Non Slip Sheet reviewed on this page. Not only top players but also amateur players use Lakza 7 and Lakza X, and I think it is a very famous rubber.
The Rakza series is a very proven series, and in the olden days, the god player mentioned earlier used Rakza 7 when he won the All Japan Student Championship and Rakza X when he won the All Japan Championship runner-up. Also, in recent years, it seems that Kouma Tezuka of Meitoku Gijuku High School, who is a heterogeneous player who makes heavy use of smash, used Rakuza X when he won the championship, and Ryoichi Yoshiyama of Aikodaimeiden used Rakuza 7 when he won the All Japan Junior Championship. It is not a minor rubber, but a rubber series that even top players can get enough results!
Rakza series
The Rakza series is YASAKA’s signature tension rubber series. All Rakuza rubbers are Hybrid Energy type rubbers, which are “combined with the high grip and spin performance of high elasticity and high friction rubber, the high repulsion of tension rubber and the refreshing shot feeling”. Similar to Butterfly’s Tenergy and Dignics series, the image of the hitting trajectory is posted on the YASAKA homepage and pamphlets. The rubber with the highest arc is the Rakza Z, which was sold in the spring of 2020. This is followed by Rakza X, Rakza 7 and Rakza 9. I think you can think of it as follows when it is compatible with the Dignix series. Rakza Z ⇄ Dignics 09C Rakza X ⇄ Dignics 05 Rakza 7 ⇄ Dignics 80 Rakza 9 ⇄ Dignics 64 The Rakuza Z, which will be released in the spring of 2020, is an adhesive rubber, and it is in the same classification as the Dignix 09C. Is this a coincidence, isn’t it?
If you explain the Rakuza series in detail, there are four types of Rakuza rubber, each of which is different in detail. There are two types of Rakza Z, Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard. The Rakuza X uses Non Slip Sheet (NSS) technology and is said to have a high grip that sets it apart from other Rakuza. In terms of performance values, the amount of rotation is higher for Rakuza 7 next to Rakuza Z. And the fastest in the series is Rakuza 9. Soft sponge is sold in two types, Rakuza X and Rakuza 7. The rubber series, which is very popular even though it has different parts in such small parts, is the Rakuza series. The Rakuza 7 reviewed this time is an 80 series rubber among the butterfly rubbers, so I would like to confirm the balance and balance between rotation and speed.
Published performance values of Rakza 7
YASAKA’s signboard rubber, Mark V (Mark Five) series is also posted. I think Mark V is basically a highly elastic rubber. You can see that many tension rubbers have better rotational performance than speed, compared to high elasticity rubbers. Surprisingly, you can see that Rakuza 7 is the rubber with the highest spin performance next to the adhesive rubber among the rubbers of YASAKA. I would like to have a deep review of this area.
Rakza 7 sticking and weight
Rakza 7
Top used rubber that stably creates intense spin
Hybrid Energy
・Speed: 11

・Sponge Thickness: middle thick, thick, extra thick
・Sponge stiffness: 45 - 50°

I pasted it using YASAKA’s Norisuke, but I think it was considerably heavier than expected due to the weight of the rubber before cutting. Rakuza 7 may be easy to absorb the adhesive.
Three features of Rakza 7
Easy to handle!
It has the same characteristics as Super Ventus, but it was easy to handle as expected! However, I felt that it was similar and different from the ease of handling of Super Ventus and Rasanter R48. Super Ventus and R48 are easy-to-use rubbers that can easily hit high-quality balls and are easy to handle in the sense that the quality of the balls is high on average, while Lakza 7 is easy to put in anyway! It was a rubber that entered the opponent’s coat as much as this one word! I was able to use it so naturally that I didn’t have to explore the habits of Rakuza 7. I felt that I could drive and meet by catching the ball as I expected without such a strange habit and letting the whole rubber get stuck. However, it was hard to feel that the quality of the ball was so high. In order to improve the quality of the ball, I felt the need to firmly insert each ball into the entire rubber and then fly it while rotating it firmly. Also, even if I intended to rotate it, I felt that the drop of the arc line during driving was a little weaker than that of Dignix 05 and Fastarc G-1. This area may be close to Tenrgy 80. With outstanding ease of handling, there was no problem with the fore, of course, and I felt that it could be used well in the back! In particular, I felt that Rakuza 7 is the hardness that I feel is quite suitable for me in the sense that I can master the rubber as the hardness of the rubber for the back and that it is moderately hard. Although it is a rubber that is easy to handle, I felt that it is not a rubber that is easy to handle but can hit a high quality ball, but a rubber that can hit a high quality ball according to the corresponding hitting method. Even if the amount of practice drops, you can apply a certain amount of rotation with the feeling of hitting the ball that you have cultivated so far, and the ball will be very stable. Therefore, at least, rather than the rubber amplifying the quality of the ball, I felt that it is a rubber that can easily express the user’s shot feeling, table tennis history and experience as it is. In other words, for a player like myself who cannot secure the amount of practice, a rubber that requires a sense of stability that will surely put in a ball of a certain quality without the delicate angle and touch cultivated by the amount of practice. I felt it was a piece. I think it’s a very good rubber! The impression of Rakuza 7 is that the rubber that does not graduate from what I can do, ensures that I can be stable, and responds to some extent even if I swing for more power.
Less susceptible to rotation!
As it is a rubber made in Germany, I felt that it was not easily affected by rotation! I think he is not sensitive to the influence of the opponent’s rotation like the Tenergy series, but rather insensitive. Therefore, it was very easy to do all the techniques (almost all hits) that needed to cancel the opponent’s rotation by overwriting. Chiquita and backhand drive were also very easy to do. I felt that the sponge bite well and it was easy to feel the ball holding, and it was easy to overwrite from the receive with Chiquita or backhand drive. I didn’t feel that the level of rotation and bending of the ball was so high, but I felt that the sense of stability was the most important weapon. It was also easy to block! No matter what angle the ball was hit, it was easy to feel and feel how much it would repel, and it was easy to adjust immediately. It was easy to fish and lob.
Easy to hit speed drive!
The bite is good, so it was so easy to hit the speed drive that I could aim for the speed drive if I floated a little! Even if I let it bite in, I didn’t feel any weakness that would reach the shot feeling of the racket board, so I was able to bite in with confidence. I was able to feel the goodness of such a high-end rubber.
Each technics review
Forehand
Light hit It wasn’t hard to hit. I felt it was easy to bite in and very easy to hit.
Drive on long balls and rallies It was very good that both the method of rubbing with the sheet and the method of hitting it were stable! However, I think the quality is low. There is a sense of speed and stability of the ball, so I felt that I could put more pressure on the opponent.
Drive with open face This is something I’ve always felt, but it was a very good impression! That is to say, when I used it lightly by a friend, I felt the strength of the core that I could not lose even if I took the plunge into the Rakuza 7 and the Rakuza X that I plan to try out later. The strength of this core is the image of the strength that can be taken to the drive no matter how hard it is bitten. I found it easy to drive with a very open face. It’s easy to do, so even if you drive a lot, it’s unlikely that it will be a drive beyond your imagination.
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin This was also good! I strongly felt the grip. I think that the grain shape is easy to grip, the grain is thick and the grain spacing is narrow. However, I felt it was a little repulsive. Still, I felt that it was within the range that could be easily dealt with.
Speed drive against back spin I wrote in the item of drive with open side, but it was very good. However, I think it’s better to let it bite in considerably, so energy is necessary.
Curve / shoot drive Since it is not a rubber that can easily generate a large amount of rotation, I did not have the impression that it would bend significantly on curves or shoots.
Block It was easy to do. It is inconsistent with the previous one, but I thought that it is easy to block because the sponge is hard and hard to deform when blocking, so it is not easily affected by rotation.
Counter drive I think it’s a rubber that is easy to counter.
Stop It didn’t spin as much as Dignics 05, but it was very easy to do. It was a pity that the amount of rotation was small, but it was easy to do because I was able to capture it firmly with the sheet.
Push Like the stop, the amount of rotation was small, but it was not difficult to do.
Serve It was a good impression that I was able to rotate it firmly. You can cut it! It’s a little easy to bounce, so I was worried about that, but once I got used to it, I felt that I could produce a well-cut serve.
Backhand
Light hit There was no particular strange feeling.
Drive on long balls and rallies Even if it was a mess, I was impressed with the drive. It’s easy to rotate. I felt that the impact would be a little insufficient, but even so, it was a rubber that I felt was quite easy to use among rubbers of the same hardness!
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin This was also very easy to do. I will grip it! Like the Tenergy 80, it felt like it popped out before it was fully gripped, but it still gripped well!
Speed drive against back spin This was also easy to do. I just felt a little hardness and straightness that did not draw an arc. This time I used it by pasting it on Zhang Jike ZLC, but it may not have been there. As an impression, I felt that there was a racket from YASAKA’s popular series Ma Lin series. The outer ZLC racket was a little too straight. I think that a wood-based or inner carbon-based racket that is easy to draw an arc will draw a better arc.
Curve / shoot drive Even if you curve it, it won’t bend that much. I think the amount of rotation is weak. I think that a pretty good ball will go if you rotate it by pushing it with your wrist.
Block It was easy to do. I think it’s because it has a good bite but a good ball holding.
Stop Similar to the fore stop, the amount of rotation was small, but it was easy to do.
Push Same as stop.
Chiquita I think the amount of rotation is small, but I thought it was quite easy to do. I think stability is a weapon.
Comparison with other rubbers (personal impressions)
As a high-end manufacturer of TSP, VICTAS is a manufacturer with a strong presence in Japan, next to Butterfly with its stylish apparel and unified rubber and racket design! It will be a trial hit of V> 15 Extra of the flagship rubber of VICTAS. As of 2020, I have briefly listed the top players who have contracted with VICTAS and are using V> 15 Extra.
In the April 2020 world ranking, you can see that it is used by the world’s top players, including Koki Niwa, who is ranked second in the Japanese. VICTAS contract players basically use V> 15 Extra or completely different rubber (for example, Korean Jang Woo Jin player has a lot of Chinese table tennis elements, Double Happiness Shanghai on the racket and fore side, We use Hurricane Long V (Inner Arylate Carbon (Inner ALC)) and Hurricane NEO III (blue sponge) made by DHS. In other words, it is no exaggeration to say that the rubber that top players want to use in VICTAS products is almost V> 15 Extra! I think it’s easy to understand that there aren’t many types of Tenergy alone like Butterfly.
Published performance value of V> 15 Extra
V> 15 Extra is said to be “a gear that emphasizes the power to produce a decisive hit, a gear that overwrites the opponent’s ball with intense rotation and speed and returns it. A gear that emphasizes the power to punch out the opponent”. VICTAS’s rubber performance table is easy to see, but on the other hand, there is no performance value called spin, and it is items such as arc line height, drive accuracy, seat strength, repulsion. Let’s take a closer look.
Arc line height: Angle change of incoming reflection with respect to the rotated ball Speed: Speed change rate before and after collision with the rotated ball Drive accuracy: Operability when driving the drive by yourself Control: Accuracy of returning the ball to the specified location for the rotated ball Seat strength: Difficult to slip against rotated balls Repulsion: The height at which the ball bounces when dropped from a certain height (Sprinkle potato starch on the rubber surface to eliminate the effect of adhesive)
You should find such an explanation when you look for VICTAS information. I found it difficult to imagine even after reading the above, but I think it is very easy to imagine the repulsion. It’s a little disappointing that there is no information that leads to rotation even if you look at these performance values, but this seems to be the strategy that VICTAS chose. In addition, TSP has posted spin and speed performance like a butterfly.
Depending on the way of thinking, the items that can be considered to be connected to rotation are the numerical values of the height of the arc line and the strength of the seat. Certainly, V> 15 Extra has a fairly high arc height and seat strength. I think that the item of sheet strength is a little worrisome, but I think that the slip resistance is evaluated, but the spin tension is V> 15 rather than the adhesive rubber VJC> 07 Sticky Extra and VS> 402 Double Extra. Extra is more expensive, isn’t it? If it is not slippery, I feel that the adhesive rubber is overwhelmingly less slippery, but I feel that it reflects the strength of the sheet tension and the thickness of the sheet.
When I read the explanation of other VICTAS rubber, I was worried about the V> 01 series, but I felt that the rotation performance may be low in terms of performance value (I do not understand because I have not tried it). Even considering various situations, I imagine that you can get a complete picture of VICTAS rubber by trying out V> 15 Extra, the rubber used most by contract players.
V> 15 Extra rubberized and weight
As usual, I pasted V> 15 Extra on Zhang Jike ZLC made by Butterfly.
V>15Extra
High Energy Tension
・Sponge thickness: 2.0 mm, MAX
・Arc height: 6.7

・Drive accuracy: 7.1
・Seat strength: 9.2
・Repulsion: 8.8
・Sponge stiffness:47.5±3°
・6,000 yen + tax
・71 g (before cut) → 50 g (after cut)
I was surprised that it was heavier than I imagined. You may have applied a little too much solvent. But it is also one of the features that it is heavy.
Three features of V> 15 Extra
The counter performance is amazing!
The first thing I felt when using this rubber was the high counter performance due to the strength and hardness of the seat! Since the seat is very hard and strong, I felt that it was a rubber that was not easily affected by the rotation of the opponent’s ball and was very easy to counter. It may be no exaggeration to say that it is the rubber that supports the counter drive of Koki Niwa, who is called the rising counter! The counter was easy to do, whether you were aiming for a drive or a bit of a meet. I think it is ants to change to this rubber for counter performance!
The drive when you let it bite in is amazing!
The hardness of the sponge is 47.5 ± 3 °, but it is a rubber that is as hard and heavy as 50 °. Therefore, the amount of rotation of the drive when it bites into the entire rubber firmly, and above all, the drive that accelerates like a spring had a stronger impact than it looks! When I tried to rotate this rubber with the sheet, it did not rotate so much, I felt that it would be difficult to rotate unless I firmly bite into the entire rubber once and then rotate it by the friction of the sheet from there. However, as I got used to it, it was such a characteristic rubber that I became addicted to a ball with a strong rotation that I could not hit unless V> 15 Extra. I don’t think it is suitable for loop drive because it is difficult to rotate unless it bites into it. Even if you drop the hitting point, you need to catch it as if it hits the ball and let it bite into the rubber before applying rotation. Therefore, I think it takes a lot of practice and getting used to hitting a low, short, shallow loop drive that catches the ball with just the seat. Rather, I think that it is better to think of it as hitting a place with a high hitting point, and then add rotation from there and bring it to speed drive or power drive. It’s a very quirky rubber, but I think it’s also an interesting rubber.
Chiquita is easy to do!
As with all German rubber, Chiquita was pretty easy to do. It bounces quite a bit, and this V> 15 Extra has a part that is quite insensitive to the rotation of the opponent, so I felt like I could enter even if I went to flick it. Maybe you can use it for Chiquita! It was a rubber that surprised me because Chiquita was so easy to do. I think this is because the seat is strong and not easily affected by rotation.
Each technics review
Fore hand
Light hit Although it was heavy, it digged in quite a bit. The hardness of the sponge is 47.5 °, so it is natural, but the bite is quite good. If it’s the fore, I personally like the sponge even if it’s a little harder.
Drive on long balls and rallies I could only use it twice in practice, so I could hardly hit a good drive. I think I could say that I didn’t know how to hit the drive that was in this rubber. The impression I felt was that the trajectory was shallower than usual and the ball was not stretched. I guess I haven’t been able to bite into it.
Drive with open face The drive that bites in is quite good. It’s a rubber that you can’t easily understand unless you get used to this feeling. However, I didn’t have enough skill and often played it, so I didn’t feel stable.
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin This was pretty difficult. It lifts up, but when I try to hit it with just the sheet, it’s quite easy to become a baseball ball. I felt that it was difficult to touch because it was better to hit it firmly even with a loop drive.
Speed drive against back spin It is easy to do speed drive of the system that makes you bite. There were times when I ended up hitting a little meat. I don’t have enough technical skills.
Curve / shoot drive It seemed like I could make a curve, but shooting is difficult unless I get used to it.
Block The block that just hits is softer than I expected, so I felt it was affected by the rotation. But it was pretty easy to smash. The seat is strong and won’t lose, so it’s better to take a little rotation by taking it firmly on the ball for a more stable impression.
Counter drive I think it is the true value of this rubber. It’s pretty easy to do. I felt that the counter performance was higher than Tenergy. Actually, those who use V> 15 Extra have the impression that the counter is good, but I felt that this rubber also played a role.
Stop It was a rubber with a good bite, so it was easy to fly. If you hit it with a sheet, it will stop.
Push It’s hard to cut. If you let it bite in, you will be over because you are the outer ZLC. It may be better to push it slightly without being conscious of rotation.
Fore flick Since the seat is hard, it was easy to do because it was not easily affected by rotation.
Serve At first, it didn’t take a turn, so I wondered what to do. Even if you serve, it will not rotate at all unless you bite it firmly. I think that it is easier to rotate if you let it bite in like a bump.
Back hand
Light hit There is momentum, so it was quite easy to put in.
Drive on long balls and rallies I could only hit it closer to meat than to drive. There was no sense of stability.
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin I have a habit of driving while pushing, so I was able to hit a good drive several times. Rather than a loop drive, it felt like a drive with a large amount of rotation that dropped the hitting point, but I felt that I was able to hit a drive with sharp growth and a feeling of intimidation.
Speed drive against back spin Speed drive was difficult. It has become a meat hit. It would be nice if we could speed up while rubbing it up like a loop drive, but this is also lacking in technical skills.
Block It was a pretty good feeling. It was especially easy to take a German rubber drive or speed drive. I’m glad that it repels firmly, or that there is a part that is not easily affected by rotation.
Counter drive It was easy to do even in the back. Rather, the faster ball bites into the rubber, so I felt that it was easier to spin by taking advantage of the bite into the sponge. I think it’s a good idea to hit it with a bit of meat and counter it with the image of spinning from there. I felt like I could enter even if I became a meat, and it was a very good feeling.
Stop Since the sponge is soft, I had the impression that it would float when the sponge bites into it.
Push Like the stop, I felt that the ball was floating.
Chiquita It was very easy to do. It was easy to flick, but it wasn’t easily affected by the rotation, so it was easy to drop it where I wanted. However, it wasn’t very powerful.

We would like to review Tenergy 05 FX, one of Butterfly (Tamasu)’s signature rubbers. First of all, I would like to write about Tenergy again. The release of the world standard Tenergy 05 dates back to April 2008, about 13 years ago. Tenergy 05, which still wants the name of the world standard even after more than 10 years have passed due to the prohibition of post-processing with organic solvents, has become an existence that can not be talked about without it when thinking about table tennis. .. Considering the features of this Tenergy series as katsuo000 as of 2021, I think it will be as follows.
Features of the Tenergy series
・ High rotation performance
・ High speed performance
・ Light
I think that the characteristics of the Tenergy series as described above are largely due to Butterfly’s unique sponge. The sponge used in the Tenergy series is an orange sponge called Spring Sponge, and the bubbles in the sponge have a closed cell structure, and it seems that they are able to show high performance. This spring sponge is a technology that differentiates it from other competing table tennis makers with only Butterfly technology. While other competing table tennis makers basically outsource rubber manufacturing, Butterfly, despite being a table tennis maker, owns a sponge manufacturing factory and is trying to differentiate itself. Because of this spring sponge, Tenergy can produce high performance, but due to the fact that it costs research and development in addition to resale and counterfeiting, it has become an open price and it is almost double the price compared to other rubbers. It can be said that it is also a (bad) feature. However, there is no doubt that the usage rate of top players is high and it is the world standard. In addition to Tenergy 05, which has the highest usage rate of the top players and high rotation performance, Tenergy 64, which has high speed performance due to the difference in the top seat, Tenergy 80, which has a good balance of spin and speed, There are 5 types of seats, including the Tenergy 25, which is strong against counters and front teams, and the Power Tenergy 19, which was released the other day. The explanation of each sheet is as follows. No. 05: The grain spacing of 1.7 mm is narrow. High rotation performance. No. 25: 2.65 mm grain height is low. Easy to play on the table and counter. No. 64: Wide grain spacing of 1.7 mm. High speed performance. No. 180: Medium grain spacing of 1.7 mm. The rotation and speed are well balanced. No. 219: The grain spacing of 1.5 mm is narrow. It is easy to grab the ball well and put out power. As mentioned above, the characteristics of each top sheet are reflected, and there are key phrases such as “Spin 05”, “Balance 80”, “Speed 64”, “Front 25”, and “Power 19”. It is crowned.
About 13 years ago, after launching Tenergy 05 in April 2008, Butterfly launched Tenergy 25 in November 2008, Tenergy 64 in April 2009, and Tenergy in July 2010. 05 FX, Tenergy 25 FX in November 2010, Tenergy 64 FX in November 2011, Tenergy 80 in January 2013, 2014 Tenergy 80 FX in April 2017, Rozena in April 2017, Tenergy 05 Hard, which is a harder version of Tenergy 05 in November 2018, in April 2019. Dignics 05 has been released as a rubber that exceeds Tenergy. Then, in March 2021, when the transition from Tenergy to Dignics was beginning to appear, Tenergy 19 was put on the market. So far, there are 10 types of Tenergy. Each of them has been sold as a new product, and the fact that Tenergy 05 is still popular is a manifestation of completion and trust.
And I think that Tenergy 05FX is a world standard Tenergy that is easy to handle by combining the world standard Tenergy 05 with a soft spring sponge. As a back rubber for intermediate users, I think it is a very popular rubber for beginners’ first Tenergy.
Published performance value
Published performance values do not depend on the presence or absence of FX. At competitors’ manufacturers, rubber with a soft sponge has high rotational performance, but I feel like Butterfly’s claim that this is not the case. Actually, the soft sponge is easier to use, but it seems that it is difficult to get the maximum rotation amount and speed, but it may be that it is not impossible to get it. In that sense, Tenergy 05FX can be said to be a high-performance and easy-to-use rubber.
Easy-to-use technics
On Butterfly’s homepage, radar charts are posted about the technologies that are easy to do for each Tenergy. I measured the ease of doing each technology with a measure, and tried to show the numerical values in the figure below. Items ・ Ease of loop drive ・ Ease of hitting speed drive ・ Ease of counter drive ・ Easy to play on the table ・ Ease of blocking ・ Ease of smashing It will be six. Personally important items are loop drive, speed drive, bench play, block and counter drive. If the smash is not adhesive rubber, you will be accustomed to hitting it.
I quoted from Butterfly’s homepage.
https://www.butterfly.co.jp/product/tenergy/
If you look at this chart, you can see that Tenergy 05FX is really at the center. There are few technologies that are difficult to do. It can be said that it is a rubber that can be recommended from beginners to intermediates if you do not consider the cost.
Recommended racket combination
Combinations recommended by the manufacturer are also posted. I will also post this. All of the following are quoted from Butterfly’s homepage. First, I tried arranging the Tenergy FX system.
Tenergy 05 FX
・Timo Boll ZLF
For players seeking stable play
・Inner Force Layer ALC
For learning various techniques
・Maze Advance
For players who are not confident in their strength
Tenergy 80 FX
・Marcos Freitas ALC
For playing in a well-balanced and wide area
・Timo Boll CAF
For all-round play in pursuit of power
Tenergy 25 FX
・Timo Boll ZLC
To players who want to use the opponent's play
Tenergy 64 FX
・Timo Boll TJ
To junior players aiming for the top
・Maze Advance
To players who use Tenergy for the first time
Basically, I felt that there were many phrases for beginners and intermediate users. Only the Tenergy 25FX has been proposed to be combined with the Timo Boll ZLC, and it seems that there are many combinations with a racket that is basically very easy to handle. Personally, I feel the intention of the manufacturer to feel the ease of handling and the fun of table tennis rather than the power. However, as a beginner, Tenergy makes the household account book cry. If my daughter wants to do that, I’ll cooperate. .. .. It’s almost April, and if you want to step up or take on the challenge of Tenergy in a new environment, it is recommended to combine it with the Tenergy FX system as described above.

It is an impression. The combination of Tenergy 25 and Jun Mizutani Super ZLC is not a story that started in 2021, but it is an impression that Butterfly has been proposing for a long time. It’s a pretty interesting combination.
Tenergy 05 FX Weight and Paste
The rubber weight of the Tenergy 05FX was about 46 g. It’s lighter than Tenergy 05 (48 g). Butterfly’s characteristic is that there are many high-performance and lightweight rubbers as a whole, and you can see that this time as well, it is light and of high quality.

Three features of Tenergy 05 FX
Bring it to your backhand!
It’s soft, so I brought it to my backhand anyway! The backhand speed drive of the third ball was very easy to hit! I felt that I could swing with great peace of mind because I could draw an arch line firmly by rotating. In addition, I felt that I could make a table tennis that would not lose even if I went down to the middle team or the apse because I could spin with the ball firmly even with a backhand that tends to have insufficient impact.
Even though it’s soft, it stops and it’s easy to counter!
Both the stop and the counter were very good. I was surprised that the counter drive was easy to do. I think it’s because of the ball holding due to the shape of the seat. With this performance, I think it’s easy to play sticky table tennis!
It’s FX, but it’s surprisingly hard!
I feel the softness because it is FX, but I felt the hardness more than I expected due to the influence of the shape of the sheet. It’s easy to handle, but I also feel the hardness, so I thought it was easy to drive. I felt that this hardness was a performance that matched modern table tennis.
Each technics review
Fore hand
Counter drive It’s easy to do. I felt that I could overwrite it before it was affected by the rotation of the other party. This is high performance.
Stop Easy to stop. I just played it when I tried to rotate it.
Push It is a little harder to rotate than Tenergy 05.
Back hand
Light hit I didn’t feel much difference from Tenergy 05 with a light hit.
Rally drive It was easy to drive. The balls were easy to align and I felt very stable. I don’t think the power is that high.
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin It was easy to do. There was a feeling that it came off a little, and I felt that the amount of rotation was low compared to Tenergy 05, but anyway, it was easy to lift, so I felt that I could drive at once.
Speed drive against back spin This was pretty good. I didn’t need that much impact, and it was difficult for the opponent to predict the speed drive from the front backhand, so I felt it was quite easy to get points.
Block I felt that it was affected by the rotation. Especially for katsuo000, I felt that it was a little difficult because I felt that the backhand was easier to block with a stiffer rubber. It is an impression that it is affected by heavy balls.
Counter drive If anything, meat was easier to do.
Stop It was easy to do.
Push Because it is soft, it is easy to repel, so it is easier to rotate with Tenergy 05.
Chiquita It was easy to get up, so it felt very good. The power may be small, but I think that the opponent does not like it if you put a horizontal rotation in the front team.
Comparison with other rubbers (personal impressions)
World Standard for all rubbers: Tenegy 05. Even now that the Dignics series has been sold by Butterfly as a rubber that exceeds Tenergy 05, the presence of Tenergy 05 is certain. One reason is that top players and players who contract with Butterfly are still using this rubber. Now that the rubber of the Dignics series has appeared, I would like to review the Tenergy series and what kind of rubber is the representative rubber in the Tenergy series, Tenergy 05. Tenergy 05 was released in 2008, more than 10 years ago. At that time, the big rule change of completely banning speed glue had a strong impact. Tenergy 05 became a monster rubber by running up to the world standard in the tremor. Tenergy 05 and “spin tension” rubber have emerged under the rule that speed glue can no longer be used and the speed performance and spin performance of highly elastic rubber due to post-processing can no longer be drawn out. Even now, the ban on speed glue and the problem of using auxiliary agents for some players (rubber post-processing, which is prohibited by the rules) have not been solved, but even if speed glue cannot be used, high speed With its performance and spin performance, Tenergy 05 can be said to be a savior in the table tennis world. Coupled with the support of such an era, Monster Rubber was born.
Published performance value
What you can see from this performance diagram is that Tenergy 05 is one of the rubbers that has high performance in both rotation performance and speed performance. You can also see that there are only two rubbers, Dignics 05 and Dignics 80, that are superior to Tenergy 05 in terms of rotation performance and speed performance. Both rubbers have a harder sponge hardness than Tenergy 05, so it can be said that they are more difficult to handle than Tenergy 05. I think that this high-balanced performance is a feature of Tenergy 05.
As you can see from the figure that reflects the sponge hardness, the rubber with the highest spin performance when the sum of rotation and sponge hardness is 50 or less is Tenergy 05. It can be said that it is a rubber with excellent rotation performance while the sponge hardness is low.
Next, we will compare Tenergy 05 with other Tenergy. It is a quantification of the ease of use of the six technologies announced by Mr. Butterfly. Speed drive x loop drive Smash x counter drive Block x tabletop
I’m a little closer to rotating technology, but you’ll find that all technologies are very easy to do. I’ve heard that the rubber conditions required by top players include the perspective that any technique can be performed without annoyance. Top players have all the options, so you don’t want to choose a tool that has any drawbacks or challenges. Also, you cannot overlook the fact that it can supplement the amount of rotation that is important in modern table tennis. In summary, it can be said that Tenergy 05 is a rubber with high rotational performance that can surely get above the average score with any technology.
Why Tenergy 05 instead of Dignics 05
As you can see from the performance table and figure, Tenergy 05 has a very balanced speed performance and spin performance. There are certainly rubbers with higher speed performance and spin performance than Tenergy 05, but it can be said that they are basically rubbers that have a harder sponge hardness than Tenergy 05 and that are easier to handle. In other words, even if it was released more than 10 years ago, Tenergy 05 is still favored by top players because of its comprehensive balance of high speed performance, high spin performance, high control performance, and ease of handling. It can be said that it is. The Dignics series is also a very addictive rubber, and it cannot be said that the way of hitting that was in Tenergy 05 does not necessarily match the rubber of the Dignics series. On the contrary, Tenergy 05 has a part where you can feel the adaptability that you can take advantage of the characteristics of any swing. As an impression of katsuo000’s curtain test hitting, Tenergy 05 was able to feel a certain amount of rotation and speed even in the hitting method of opening the surface that matches the adhesive rubber and applying rotation while playing. I feel that this is largely due to the spring sponge. Compared to rubber from other manufacturers, which are said to have similar shot feelings, I feel that the feature of this Tenergy 05 that it can rotate and speed up with any hitting method is amazing. It is understandable that some of the top Chinese players used it.
Paste and weight of Tenergy 05
Tenergy 05

I think Tenergy 05 is the heaviest of the butterfly rubbers, but it’s still a lightweight rubber that fits in the late 40g.
Three features of Tenergy 05
Drive rotation takes place without permission! Automatic performance!
It is said that there is an automatic performance that automatically rotates the drive as a point that seems to be Tenergy of Monster Rubber and Tenergy. In fact, I lent a racket with Tenergy to those who do not even have their own racket and can not hit the foreground. Those who don’t know how to drive or feel, remember that the ball grew strangely even though they were just pushing behind the ball. I felt, “Is this the automatic performance !?” I don’t really feel this benefit because the plastic ball is also hard and hard to rotate, but I think the word “automatic performance” is a word that shows that it is a rubber that is easy to rotate.
High spin performance!
As if you were driving with adhesive rubber, you can invite the opponent’s block over mistake with loop drive! The loop drive of Tenergy 05 is difficult to block, so I think it is necessary to check it firmly when exchanging the racket before the game. You can fly a pretty unpleasant ball. With high grip, it is easy to hit a low and shallow high quality loop drive, and it is difficult to take a counter for the hit loop drive. If I was using Tenergy 05, I would like to aggressively use the loop drive a lot to invite the opponent’s mistakes, or even after the loop drive, I would like to hit the speed drive etc. repeatedly to develop the subsequent rally in an advantageous way. Of course, compared to Tenergy 05 Hard, it feels like it will fly a little, so I feel that the quality of the loop drive will deteriorate a little, but even with Tenergy 05, a sufficient amount of rotation can be obtained.
Light, easy to handle and high performance!
Of particular note is the light weight of less than 50 g with this rotational performance. I think there are many other rubbers that can produce heavy balls with the amount of rotation, but the rubber with excellent total balance such as ease of handling and lightness of less than 50 g, Tenergy 05 is still a unique rubber and the world standard. It can be said that it is a rubber of. Light rubber has the impression that the amount of rotation is insufficient and the ball tends to be light, but I think that it is rare to feel the lightness of the ball with Tenergy 05. It seems that the performance of Tenergy 05, which is light but takes rotation, can only be manufactured at a butterfly factory in Japan.
Each technics review
Fore hand
Light hit It feels like the ball is lively from a light hit. Especially when it is freshly pasted, it gives an impression that a lively ball is easy to come out. I think it’s easy to feel that the arc of the ball is slightly out even with a light hit.
Drive on long balls and rallies The drive is very easy to hit. The harder you hit, the easier it is for the ball to rise, so you’ll want to lay the racket down and hit a strong speed drive. You can hit the right drive just by lying down the racket surface and the rubber surface facing down. Compared to the Tenergy 05, the Tenergy 80 has a weaker grip, the ball separates faster, and the ball does not rise up, so it seems that the 80 is more likely to make a net mistake with the same swing. If you use 05, I think it is better to open the racket surface and hit the speed drive with the rubber facing down.
Drive with open face Although I have already touched on it a little, it was very easy to hit the drive with the open side. I think this is a hidden feature of Tenergy 05. With rubber made in Germany, which is said to have a similar shot feeling to some Tenergy 05, I felt that it would fall if it was a drive with an open surface. I felt like I would just play it without gripping it. I think it’s easier to use with the backhand, but I like Tenergy 05 for the foreground!
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin It is easy to hit a very strong loop drive. I think it is a technology that can demonstrate the high spin performance that is also a feature of 05! Since it is a rubber with a very rich grip, even if the swing speed is slow, by dropping the hitting point and swinging up while firmly biting into the sponge, I think that you can hit a low quality loop drive with a large amount of rotation. increase! Tenergy 05 is a rubber that has a high grip and feels like holding a ball, so if you get caught too much, it will be easier to aim at the counter drive using horizontal rotation, so it is also possible to firmly apply vertical rotation to a flat feeling. I think it’s a nice place for 05.
Speed drive against back spin It was easier to hit the speed drive with the face open. It will be stable if you hit it with the image of spinning while hitting it. It may be said that the feature of Tenergy 05 is that you can apply a strong and strong rotation with this way of hitting.
Curve / shoot drive In a curve drive, I think you hit it like getting involved, but then the ball is a little difficult to run. I had the impression that the shoot drive was easier to speed up.
Block Personally, the block was a little difficult to do. Since the rubber is soft, it is easy to take balls such as smashes, but balls with rotation such as loop drive are easily affected by rotation and it was easy to over-miss. I think this is common with rubber with high rotational performance. Therefore, I think that it will be stable by making it a block that actively rotates by itself like an active block. I think that it is more stable to actively perform side spin block and active block that applies drive rotation
Counter drive The rubber as a whole is soft, so I personally felt that it was difficult to counter drive in the front team. I think that you can hit a stable counter drive by stepping back a little and counter driving so as to overwrite the rotation firmly before and after the apex.
Stop It’s quite soft, so it’s surprisingly bouncy. Also, it was easily affected by rotation, so I had the impression that I was careful.
Push It was an impression that over mistakes would increase if you cut it because it bites unexpectedly.
Fore flick It’s soft, so it was easy to flick on top.
Back hand
Light hit I feel like I have a ball. However, there is also momentum, so it was easy for me to make many over mistakes with my swing.
Drive on long balls and rallies A stable drive is easy to hit. I felt that a stable impact was necessary to hit the speed drive system.
Loop (top spin) drive against back spin It’s very easy to hit. I think it’s easy to put in even if the swing is a little slow because there is a ball holding. I felt that it was better to be careful there because it tends to be insufficient in power.
Speed drive against back spin Sometimes I hit it flat and hit it, and a surprising speed drive came in. Either way, I felt that a certain amount of solid impact was necessary to hit a stable drive. I don’t think I had the skill to use it in the backhand.
Curve / shoot drive There were some people who disliked the backhand curve drive, and it became a scoring ability. Even so, I only entered several times in one game.
Block Like the fore block, I felt it was susceptible to rotation. It was easy to suppress the power of the ball and block it by making sure to catch the top of the drive type ball. Actually, I think that the score rate will increase if you can make an active block, but I didn’t have that skill.
Counter drive I didn’t have enough skill, and when I tried to counter drive, I made many over mistakes. I felt that a slightly harder rubber was easier to do.
Stop It was easier to do because the back has a feeling. I couldn’t make a stop or push that I cut with a Tenagy rubber with a good sense of stability. I don’t have enough skill around here either.
Push It was easy to squeeze at a certain level. It was difficult for me to cut firmly like Harimoto. I think it’s workmanship. Zhang Jike ZLC has a thin plate thickness of 5.5 mm, so it doesn’t bounce unexpectedly on the table. Since the shot feeling is hard, the ball can be released quickly, but it may be cut off with a minimum bite with the image that you can catch on the sheet.
Chiquita Because you have a ball, it’s easier to over-miss than you think. I think it’s better to aim below than you think. Also, if you are in good shape and try to speed up, you will make a net mistake this time, so please be careful. Please be careful when you rotate firmly or when you play a speed type chiquita, as it will fall if you do not rotate it firmly at a considerable swing speed.
